They really did a good job playing up the tragedy of Shigechi's death to for the other characters, first time I've ever had actual feeling for the guy.

Killer Queen also looked pretty nice compared to last time, and having Sheer Heart Attack at the end was the cherry on top, can't wait for next week's episode with Start Platinum & Echoes Act 3

Pretty much this. The first half of Part 4 is fairly structured, with a story arc about finding the Bow & Arrow, and meeting other Stand users who were affected by it. Then it goes into Kira's arc about the truth behind all the disappearances.

Then once Kira bodyswaps and disappears, the plot really kinda stops for a while, and it's just various mini arcs about other users, until it finally comes together near the end.

It's probably why Araki only did Part 4 as slice of life style. Most of the other ones are more plot oriented rather than episodic like Part 4, and thus stay more consistent throughout.

All of it is filler that could be removed without any consequence to the story.
