You will probably not like it from what the sounds of it.
Normally, I would advise to try out three episodes, but seeing as how you're already at episode six and still are struggling and not liking it, it might be better if you drop it.
Perhaps it might be better to watch it with someone.
Some shows are more fun if you can talk about it with somebody else, like for example Mayoiga.

it gets better, the story picks up and the fights get better, plus Nonon gets more screen time

Honestly. I think I stopped at EP.18. No particular anything. I mainly watched for Ryuko and eventually Satsuki, but like you said the plot wasn't really engaging. All I can say is to "turn your brain off" while watching KLK. It's definitely an outrageous, pick-me-up type of show. It doesn't have to make sense.

No, it does not have a good story, its basically anime porn. That being said, its not so bad that I felt I had to force myself to watch it either, plot just isn't its strong point.

The dub is pretty well-done, with just a few things only the pedantic would find intolerable.

With such an action-heavy show, I chose dub so as to keep my eyes on the action, not the subs.
