I only watched the first one, and it was an utter clusterfuck of a plot. Did it actually make sense in any of the sequels?

The second movie is extremely uneventful except for some wacky shit like the gay dolphin and flying sharks eating Norio Wakamoto's character. The symbolism is also taken to eleven but it's all a pointless effort. Not even worth it for the laughs.

The third movie is about as good as the first one, and that's not saying much. There's a 20 minute long gambling scene in the beginning that was a waste of time and effort. The plot concludes satisfyingly character arc-wise, but lots and lots of things are left unexplained. I wouldn't recommend the trilogy to anyone.
