Nakajima doesn't have a bad voice. It's unique and cute. The problem is she sucks at singing and her voice isn't good for singing anyway. Ranka's appearance, voice, and personality made it hard to write songs for her. All her songs were like some cutesy babby shit. Reminds me Full Moon wo Sagashite. Main character is 12 year old girl who can turn into older 16 year old girl using magic. They picked a famous singer as her VA. And while she sounded fine for 16 year form and her songs were amazing (just an example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4UOo-E2Auw), her voice was completely alien for 12 years old girl. It took me like 10 episodes until I got used to it.
That 12 year old girl had throat cancer so at least she had canon reason to have such strange voice. But there is no excuse for Ranka's ugly voice.
