What is the best ongoing shonen battle manga & why is it Saike Mata Shitemo?
how come /a/ never talk about this?
Don't talk to me or... Oh you already said it.
One of my favorite recent mangas. Saike is pretty rad.
post tape loli
Saike is great, I hope the mangaka doesn't fall ill and gets the series cancelled again.
This author always had potential.
OP why don't you dump the new release. At-least it will bump the thread.

I like hamster loli.
The manga is good.
His art gone a long way from his debut. Reading ueki make me want to gouge my eyes because the art was too much like One Piece pre-grand line, and it didn't change until the end
>>145378906
They're actively trying to avoid that by only serializing a volume at a time, so it can't go on hiatus in the middle of an arc. It makes waiting for new chapters hurt though.
>saike getting a thread
Just started getting the next chapter done, may as well dump that as I do it if anyone's interested..
>>145382316
Hell yeah i am interested.
>>145380244
I like this series because it's one of the more interesting "looper" style narratives in Manga.

That's the end of the chapter. There's five left in the volume, and I'll try and get at least one more done today.Reading volume 5 again just makes what happens in 6 hurt even more;_;
>>145383506
I knew that. But after knowing that he shouldn't use his power too much, I at least expected him to rely more on his friends. But this mad man abused it anyway.

>>145384001Saike's brain deteriorates to the point where his survival instinct forcibly wipes all memories of his teammates and Oracles.
Negatibrain's team betrays him because they believe they're the next step of human evolution and trick Saike into believing he's been on their side all along and that Hizu and Ana are his enemies.
He fights his former teammates and Hizu literally lets himself be killed to try and bring back Saike's memories so Saike will be able to go back and save him.
>>145377914
So I tried to pick it up, do Japanese trucks defy space and time or is the MC just too stupid to tell the girl he had a bad dream about her dying in that street so maybe she should skip going there that day or at least fucking pay attention while crossing the street?
>>145384294
Jesus. I thought the manga was already heading to an early ending considering how they added that limitation to his power.
>>145384294So what, his brain just magically fully recovers when his memory gets erased and he can use his powers as much as he wants again? That's fucking stupid.
>>145384294
fun series
I didn't know it was the ueki guy, guess it makes sense now
>>145384614It doesn't recover at all, he just doesn't care if he dies. It's still a shonen battle series, we know he won't ever actually die.
>>145384409
No, it just Mikan really want to die.
>>145384409
>do Japanese trucks defy space and time
I've sort of always just assumed this was the case.
>>145384711
Oh. OH. This explains everything.
>>145385373
How else would they be able to run at such speeds into highly populated areas?
Is Ueki any good? Cause I've been loving this.
>>145388244
Ueki is pretty good, the manga's artstyle is bad until nearly the end, so I'd recommend the anime.
>>145377914
Is this ending soon?
>>145389264
It's hard to tell. It could end within a few volumes if they wanted it to, but it's won a few awards so I doubt the magazine would want to get rid of it, especially since it's irregularly serialized so it doesn't take up much space from other series.
>>145379663
Meh stopped reading after that guy with the oracle to transform things he holds into soft material, forgot what it was, was kidnapped and held at that warehouse and prota came to save him and somehow had the whole moveset of every enemy perfectly remembered.
Because out of some reason they would never hurt enough the prota to actually kill him or at least enough to be put into a hospital for multple days and so he just needed to drown himself repeatedly to remember their whole moveset....
That is just unbelievable convenient.
Also regarding saving Mikan, why couldnt he just freaking hold her hand and go together with her, than he could still hold her back or whatever, so many possibilities this was truly the most braindead conclusion of a prota I witnessed since a long time.
So does it really get better after that?
his oracle is specifficaly drowning in the lake to reset and mot any death right?
>>145390006
It hasn't been confirmed, but even he's not insane enough to test that.
>>145390006
Might be any death but he only ever uses the lake just to be safe

He got sick in the middle of Anagle Mole and had to put that on hiatus for over a year, which ended up in it getting canceled right after it came back. They're trying to avoid that with Saike by having him only publish one volume's worth of chapters at a time and then putting it on hiatus for a few months until he finishes the next batch.
>>145390761
My schedule for today is nothing but working through my reading/gamebacklog, so yeah, probably whenever I get bored of that.

Brute Force: the Superpower
How far behind the raws are we now?
>>145407141
Volume 5 goes up to chapter 42. Magazine raws are up to 52, so volume 6 should have all of those when it comes out next month or so.

>>145380858
He still has a lot of problems, like once you notice how often he fucks up the shape of the head, you'll never stop seeing it. But he's in the same category as guys like ONE and Mizukami who, while not being refined artists, still succeed because they're a damned good storytellers.
>>145408403
I like to think he's doing it on purpose at this point to give himself a recognizable style.
>>145408537
Could be. His title pages often look better than the rest of the chapter, though frankly I'd pour my heart and soul into drawing Mikan too.

Maybe it'll get adapted and interest will revive.
I thought Tanabe Yellow was reasonably well liked. Kekkaishi was a good example of Doing It Right for a battle shounen: coherent over-arching plot, no dragging on, good character development, creative abilities, childhood friend won.
>>145411100
>Jaimini's box
I remember one time they asked if they could do a joint on Saike with me. I don't think I've ever wished I could laugh in someone's face over the internet harder before.

I'd have joined you, they have a pretty shoddy work ethic.
>>145411733
They tried to pick it up with share magazine raws while I was waiting for the second volume to come out. I think they only did one chapter before the translator outright banned them from using his scripts (which they ignored for another series he was doing), but that one chapter is always bugging me whenever I see it.
>>145401107
Thanks for the dump man, I really like this manga. I read Ueki because of him, and because I read Anagle Mole.
Just binged this entire manga because of this thread. It almost feels as if it got axed by how quick MC's power is becoming obsolete, is that the case or are we going to get some more mileage out of this thing?
>>145410683
This looks like kekkaishi's art, and kekkaishi was shit. I read a few chapters of birdman years and years ago and it didn't seem so special at the time.
