>[Commie] Kizumonogatari - 01 [BD 1080p AAC] [835FC13B].mkv
Time for a hundred posts of comparing download speeds, I guess.
>kizumonogatari came out and was subbed in your lifetime
How does it feel /a/?
>people actually waited for commie
sad to be quite honest senpai
>still falling for the Commie meme
Commie confirmed for best sub group.
yfw you waited for Commie instead of being an impatient idiot.
Herkz, you fuck, at least give us some screenshots or something so we can have some comparisons. Not just subs, but encode comparisons.
>commie actually doing something monogatari again
Oh wow it's nothing, nice waste of a thread OP.
I thought I remember him bitching about the encodes and saying he'd have a "real" encode out, so I was hoping he'd give some sort of screenshots
if only to further out himself as an autist.
Inb4 the dank 'Commie is okay with Monogatari' meme, their Owari subs were literally worse than Crunchyroll's.
Commie is an abomination that needs to hurry up and die.
Kizu is already subbed tho.
What's the point of trying to resub something that is complete??
Considering the source isn't 10bit and isn't 265 and the encode is forced 1080p, I'll wait for a higher quality version. I'm surprised this made it out of NT's highly critical quality assurance test for release.
I'm kind of baffled. Are people really defending the subs that were already out?
You know your script is fucking shit when it's less watchable than the Aniplex one.
have you never used nyaa in your entire fucking life
made me chuckle
>These are exclusive torrents picked by us.
>They represent the best available version of this content.
>There will be no duplicates.
>Only versions that we actually consider worthy of a seal of approval will be listed.
So a mod who is a member of Commie gets to set his uploads as blue before anyone can even watch it and verify the quality; is this not a contravention of the rules?
Holy shit Commie/herkz. What the fuck is this atrocity of the Japanese to English language?
Comeme, not even once.
Were the subs for the previous season actually reviewed or were they actually just auto-blued like this because this cocksucker has been an infallible mod the whole time?
Don't get the wrong idea, pal.
What's the best option for Monogatari BDs?
From what I get Coalgirls uses Commie subs(or the best ones available) as a base, changes some stuff, takes the memes away and then proofreads it.
>dub posting on /a/ for attention instead of doing TL
>being retarded enough to believe comeme is good at anything other than shitposting
I can't tell if /a/nons are actually falling for the retarded "le comeme" meme, or they legitimately meme too well for me to understand their sarcasm. You retards can fuck off.
Get outta here herkz. You don't have any accountability as an Anonymous poster so there is no reason to post here.
Because the people at Commie actually know Japanese and aren't afraid to call out shitty "translations". This angers the EOPs on /a/. They want to believe that they don't need Commie anymore but that isn't the case and they hate it.
> Are you okay with this?
> Of course I'm not.
Didn't he call her bastard or something?
duh, he's an attentionwhoring retarded br who can't do anything properly but still thinks he does. why people fall for it is beyond me, i guess posting a million threads and samefagging will make morons believe anything.
Its almost like monogatari has always been a pain in the ass to translate or something.
>duh, he's an attentionwhoring retarded br who can't do anything properly but still thinks he does.
How is he attentionwhoring by linking another guy's torrent in his own and saying it's better?
> why people fall for it is beyond me
Because people can actually see the difference between his encodes and others. His Eva encode looks a million times better than anything else we have.
I care little about encoding/subs drama that he and Herkz seem to love so much but I'm not blind to ignore the fact that it looks good.
yeah except when people post evidence that he fucks up the colors, when he deleted his own comparison screenshots after it was pointed out by non-blind people that his encode was fucking shit, and the countless times he samefagged to make himself look better and dismiss criticism
if you think it looks good then congrats, you're a retard who gets fooled by "convenient" screenshot comparisons.
They couldn't help but slip a meme in at the end I see.
i don't think i've ever heard someone mention their "sides" when laughing in real life ever, considering how obsessed he is with his net identity i bet he's deluded himself to the point that he thinks webspeak is "normal".
I used to belive in you
I'll stick with the Seph fix I did last week
THIS is who is trusted with translating anime?
>watching monogatari with inferior aniplex subs
Is that you Fyurie? Have I upset you? My sides!
>not waiting for all the three parts to release so you marathon them
seems like the best option desu
Nobody other than a member of Commie would shill for Commie in this manner.
Nice damage control.
I'm just going to re-watch each previous part before watching the new one.
Who cares about Koyomimonogatari?
I should really get around to watching the -monogatari clusterfuck
So, who's going to be the mad man to take comeme's subs, fix them, and reupload them to NT just to see the cartel butthurt?
Wait a second... something's not adding up here.
Nisemonogatari was published between September 2008 the first half and June 2009 the second part... and Bakemonogatari (anime) was aired in July 2009.
You filthy hack
Fuck off, ponyfucker. I understand the meaning. That doesn't make it an appropriate thing to throw into your translation, since it's totally unrelated to what's on the screen.
>no concept of translating voice
The problem with translators who are really good at understanding Japanese is often that they are terrible writers in English. You need to actually be a good writer in the language you're translating into in order for it to be a good translation.
Yes, people sometimes say "my sides" when they're laughing so hard that that their sides physically hurt, but it's a question of whether they would say it in this situation or not, and the answer is probably not. The writer is projecting their own vocabulary and voice onto characters in which that voice doesn't fit.
So these shitty writers often then yell at people who call out their shitty translations by saying that the critics just don't know Japanese and that they are so much better at Japanese, when the problem is in the English, not the Japanese.
Each real-life person has their own vocabulary and way of speaking, which may vary depending on whom they are talking to, and this is rarely brought out in translations, even professional ones sometimes. I remember calling out some scanlator about a manga passage where an adult is having a conversation with the child. My point was that you should be able to tell which one is which without needing the actual drawings for reference because the child would be speaking in a childlike manner, but also the adult would be simplifying things when talking to the child.
You want literal? Here, Google Translation does literal subs.
I girlfriend of experienced in the bed, such had was shit, was not able to actually find, and the reason is, I did Mase and. Your girlfriend is Jack early to start hammer my penis, as was able to when you feel the start of the first to convulsions, I decided to yank her to give a blowjob and mouth her off my dick It is available. First I some of the convulsions, not my Cumming was trying to explain her, she will never believe me.
Needless to say, because it is I felt bad about myself, which was not able to get to orgasm, she, it is her, is a fairly relationship killer, it was a relationship killer for her. For that you get a job, if you have to worry about too much detail, she, baked cover climax, this will was not a problem.
Nice catch, it turns out I misread that. Nisio thought the Monogatari series was complete with Kizu, and added on Nise as a fanbook. Then Bake aired and he decided to write more.
>It's weird how so many anime fans think "my sides" is a meme
>Implying that /a/ is the majority of anime fans
Why does Herkz even bother coming to /a/ if he considers us to be a bunch of socially incompetent autists? Hell, why does he even "greentext" on Twitter when it came from 4chan?
I'm just talking out my ass here, but I imagine "chou ukeru" is slang you'd see posted on 2ch to which "my sides" is an acceptable translation. Jap anons feel free to test my hypothesis and tell me if I'm right or just full of shit.
He likes the culture but refuses to participate since he can't block things he doesn't agree with. He lives in a bubble.
It's sad that fellow cartel member Daiz posts here with a trip and doesn't get trolls, but bubbleboy fears for his life over the words that people would say to him. He's very insecure and only likes hugs and hearing his own voice echo back at him. Picture related to the echo chamber point - 4 years 26k.
It's just teenspeak for "you gotta be kidding", it's not particularly memetic, it just seems that the translator couldn't make it sound teen enough and just decided to go with the meme route because all the kids like dem memays and use them all the time when hunting for their pokeymans go in his lawn
>posting on /a/
>doesn't know japanese
There are glaring mistakes in both copies. Just save yourself the headache and learn Japanese while you wait for p2/3 to come out. You can be speaking/hearing in 6 months, runes take longer though.
If you read the novel then watch the movie you should be able to understand it fine even with shit subs. Its only the first few chapters adapted, would take an hour max.
Also a good idea to read it because the movie cuts out a lot of Araragi's dialogue.
That's easy. Seph is you and Commie is Thomas Pereira. It all falls down to who do you trust more. You, an EOP, or Pereira, the person chosen by the Kangxi Emperor as an interpreter between the Qing court and the Russians.
>this is what commiefags actually believe
I ain't downloading commie shit.
>tfw commie has a fucking monopoly on monogatari SS 1080p blurays
>tfw trash like deadfish hardsubs the FUCKING bluray of nise
>months after thoe showing
>there are people who are only just now watching this
That sounds comfy as fuck. Even though there are zero good movies lately.
Deadfish had a fucking monopoly on the Nise BDs for a very long time.
Oh, and the commie shitbags still haven't done the BDs for Oni-, Koi-, and Hana-. A hardsubber has a monopoly on that.
As far as I can tell, it's just the one guy who has them all still alive, but there is a list of the missing BD volumes by someone else - with only 1 person connected to all of them.
This movie made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Every minute I watched I only had to think "What was Shaft thinking?"
I imagine the process of making a 60-minute movie in four years was the following.
1. Read a chapter from the book.
2. Animate it based on it.
3. Let the director have a look at it.
4. Redraw it because the director wanted to make it more dramatic.
5. Loop for about 5~10 times.
Movie was full of QUALITY
That's literally the worst headpat technique ever. He's just shaking her head instead of stroking/caressing her hair.
Not done yet. Have to survive until the third one.
Honestly I've seen the movie 3 times now and after the first viewing I turned off subs for the whole duration. I think I can honestly say that due to the emphasis on visual storytelling and the very simple script, I lost very little in the way of understanding but was more able to appreciate the trippy visuals.
I can see being excited for this if you haven't seen it yet but otherwise I feel like the movie is easy enough to understand without them.
Eh, the original novels weren't exactly works of art to begin with. If Shaft wants to fuck around and make Twilight with weird visuals and stylish action scenes, I'm all for it.
I'd like to ask a question: do you honestly consider Commie's subs good enough for this?
It's a text-heavy show and dialogue is very important, but Commie just releases liberal americanized meme-filled crap.
For example, look at how bad their Monogatari S2 subs were: http://www.crymore.net/2013/07/28/fansub-review-commie-monogatari-series-second-season-episode-04/
I don't want to ruin the series for me by reading some garbage subs, and I'd rather just wait for someone more capable to release proper ones.
>part 2 and 3 still not subbed
Fucking hell, why are Commieshits so lazy?
Upsetting the cartel has never been so easy.
It's probably their worst mogoatari work to date. It's debatable if they're even the best release currently available, which is sad because most of the other releases are barely even english.
Even with commie's release,w e're still at the stage where there are no subs for this movie good enough to actually watch it. If you watched commie's subs, you might as well watch it raw. If you actually care about the dialogue and what's being communicated between characters verbally, then you're best off continuing to wait because there are still no passable subs.
>tfw there hasn't been a good fansub for Monogatari since Nise
Even Vertical made a better job with Wound Tale.
Why doesn't /a/ just crowdfund a Monogatari translation from a proper translator? I don't think it'd be very expensive, even a single generous Monogatari fan could pay for it.
Don't you start with me. You know what I meant.
Is this still possible?
Because paying a proper translator on commission is a surefire way to overpay for some bumblefuck to rush through something half-assed and produce shit worse than commie just for a cheap buck. Never trust commission-based labour to produce quality results.
I'd happily throw donationbucks at some competent anon who took it upon himself to try and produce passable subs, but I'd die before throwing a single red cent at some normalfag translator looking to capitalize on weeb autism by smearing feces on script page and calling it professional work.
>he technical aspects of subbing
This can easily be done by any of us, proficiency with Aegisub is easy to come by.
>but I'll fart out a .txt file with a better translation
How can she say ''remember my name'' if it's the first time they are talking to each other.
The LN lines are still better than your shitty subs.
>5mins of Araragi burning(Half a page in the book)
>not even 1min of the pantsu description(2 whole pages)
Why is this allowed? They were trying to pad out the runtime, too, after splitting the book into 3 movies.
>How can she say ''remember my name'' if it's the first time they are talking to each other.
Because she's heard it before. I like how you ignore how unnatural the line on the right sounds, though.
There are about a million people on this board who could slap a translation onto a source video for you. Typesetting is literally the easiest part of the job. Good translators, and by extension good translations, are remarkably hard to come by, hence the whole dilemma of this thread.
If you could throw together something better than commie's shit, you'd be our savior.
In that case, I'll get on it. I'll put it in a pastebin when it's done, I suppose. I'll link to it in the next thread.
I'll do it for free. But if you end up being so impressed by it that you want to give me money, I'll consider it.
Seph's line is literal and closer, but is in dire need of an editor.
Commie's is incorrect given it isn't "remembering" from Hanekawa's perspective until Araragi fills her in on the context in the next line of dialogue.
Also Hanekawa never said ''I don't stand out''.
Also commie's tl just sounds so unnatural, the way the characters speaks sounds awkward and doesn't have any flow to it.
(When I say ''sounds'', I mean the way its read.)
Am I the only one that thought the movie could have been longer?
After buying the eromags it felt like everything was happening very fast. I think they could have smoothed the pace of the movie with longer transitions.
Apart from that, I absolutely loved it
>the Kizumonogatari commentaries will never be translated
>the commentaries for anything after Nise 02 will never be translated
>Not a single vampire hunter fight in an entire part of the movie
>All inner narration completely shafted
>Stylistic choices that don't look particularly good in places
>Three fucking parts for a novel that takes a couple of hours to read through
What the fuck was Shaft thinking?
>It worked for The Hobbit.
No. If it was a two parter the films would be better. The 2nd film was basically pointless and had no payoff, the 2nd and 3rd film should have been one.
Its a pretty good film, watched it with the other subs. It ends so abruptly though that it was sickening, like seriously what kind of ending point was that? There's absolutely no reason why it should be 3 movies for a short book, besides shamelessly milking your fanbase.
His entire feed is whining about what people say here, but in a self-moderated bubble.
It's a little sad.
Is herkz braindead? How can this retard still defend this? “Sidesplitting” stemming from an English idiom doesn't give you license to translate every reference to laughter to “my sides”.
“My sides” is never used in general conversation anyway; it's only used on the Internet.
>Is herkz braindead?
Yes, he is a retard and whenever he fucks up he just doubles down on his idiocy because he's too autistic to admit he fucked up
I've only encountered "my sides" on imageboards and related communities (video game forums, comments on specific YouTube videos...). To me, it doesn't seem like a natural thing a character would say, unless he was an internet-savvy nerd like Daru or Frau and the translation policy were to use Western equivalents in place of the original lingo. But certainly I don't think it's a good expression to use in a general manner.
I have them and I know they don't have translated commentaries. That's why I'm bitching.
All of Bake, first two episodes of Nise, and then one episode of Koi have translated commentaries.
>they fell for the commshit meme
A literal random is better at subbing than these subhumans
Good job taking 500 years to release an inferior product when everyone has already watched it.
Overly liberal, americanized subs, often with poor quality and too little regard for the original meaning (or outright translation mistakes).
Some examples: https://unanimated.github.io/wall-of-shame/
Since Nyaa is run by them, sometimes their inferior versions are marked A+ instead of better alternatives.
I like to feel immersed when I watch anime. If I read something like "Buying lunch is for plebs" my suspension of disbelief is broken and I just think "Well, it was pretty weird for that character to say that... I wonder what he originally said". Watching Commie releases makes this thought pop up in my mind too often.
For a series like Monogatari, I simply can't trust Commie subs, and I find it sad that there is no alternative other than shoddy official subs or semi-machine translated crap.
I get what Commie tries to do and while I'm sure it has its audience, I'd say it's far-fetched to consider their translations superior to others.
B-but it's shit on purpose, so it's okay right?
>we are literally watching cambodian cave paintings at this point
>Make shit subs for something unsubbed and complain about how at least it isn't commie on /a/
>commie subs it
I think this will be a useful tool for the future
Another stupid tl error made by commie.
In this scene Araragi says 吸血鬼/Kyūketsuki meaning vampire.
Where the fuck that ''undead'' came from commie?
Hi, it's me. I'm at the 38-minute mark. Give me another hour to get to the end, and then a little more time to proofread, and then I'll be done. I'm trying to pay attention to the purpose and tone of each line, as well as the style in which the characters talk to each other, so hopefully it'll be decent. I've borrowed a few word choices (such as "thrall") that I liked from the Vertical translation, but other than that, it's all me.
Oh, and I was considering doing Kissshot's lines in Ye Olde Englishe, but I know that there's a right and a wrong way to do that, and I'm not confident enough to. So when I put my TL up, if anyone who knows what they're doing wants to Ye Olde Englishe-ify her, be my guest.
I have this one if it counts.
I at least understood what they were trying to do in that scene. "Undead" made slightly more sense for a different line in the same scene and then they just translated it the same way again for consistency. They were at least trying to translate properly there instead of fucking around like they usually do.
Pretty cool movie, but around halfway through I just started to feel they were being too damn fancy with it and the style became an annoyance. So much time was played with silent shots, panning scenery and walking, they could've easily fit the whole story into a tight 2-hour film. Kizu is probably the weakest book in the series anyway, you don't need to play it out like it's larger than life.
They do it often. I remember mori was subbing Dagashi Kashi on time because no ones else was, and the twitter commie fag was shitting on it, saying the show was shit anyway. And then they started subbing it.
I really enjoyed Commie's version of Twintails, which was full of these kind of lines, because Twintails is a silly show and it fit. It was like watching an "Abridged Series".
Where were the head tilts?
