The thing is, a lot of people and inspiring writers are lazy and rather take ideas from Haruhi Suzumiya or SAO instead. The series goes out of the way to excuse Homura's actions and ends with Madoka thanking her for everything she did. EVERYTHING. A viewer could view this as a bit of a copout, but this is the way the narrative presents kt.

Rebellion goes out it's way to excuse, balance out, or ellicit sympathy for her actions. Hell, the song at the end of the movie is pretty much Homura begging Madoka not to leave the cage she's made for her again and the visual ends with her and Madoka running off into eternity. It's certainly not Magia.

I would be completely shocked if Homura doesn't get Homudemption.

What actions are these that Rebellion makes excuses for, and for what reasons? I can see the other two courses of action, but can't remember anything of the first one.

Also, Rebellion itself already is her redemption. This may sound strange at first glance, but Homura's failure to stand up to and quit Madoka from making the contract is presented within the film as possibly her biggest error, and outside of the film there also was Shinbo I think commenting on how the fate that Madoka took on her own shoulders was a burden that is too cruel to have a middle schooler like her to bear.

Of course, that's where Rebellion comes in and has Homura negate the outcome of her previous mistake by having her rescue Madoka from her own wish, without undoing it on its entirety even. Homura unexpectedly gets to redeem what she had come to see as her biggest failure.

I am not pretending to deduce what could happen next, but just explaining that this is something that may have taken place already.

Mostly true. To say it's irrelevent though would be like saying a film acclaimed by both critics and viewers is irrelevent. While not as impactful as Evangelion, Madoka will be used as a metric of quality and story telling in anime for at least the next decade. She can't lose something she never had. Madoka always dies on the timelines they were shown together and whenever Homura restarted the timeline, Madoka knew nothing about Homura anyway. And after Madoka's wish Homura and Madoka were both alone on their own worlds stuck with nothing but the task of fighting wraiths/cleaning after magical girls everywhere. It should be undeniable that the current status quo is the closest stable situation they have been up until now, even if it obviously is not enough for them of for others.

What actions? Her beating up Bebe a little? No excuse was given at any point, only Homura's motivation behind it. Excusing it would have been saying that Homura was right in putting the poor creature under duress or something, showing the reasoning Homura had to do it is not the same as giving a excuse as if to justify her actions. Why do you think she had to fight off Mami?

Same goes for Homura prefering to do things alone and not trusting others, the reason for it has always been that she has tried to do things this way since long ago. Now about an excuse, it's not like the plot in Rebellion had Madoka later on pushing Homura on why she shouldn't go off and do things by herself, and at the climax Homura does just that as she self-styles as the devil.

If she suceeded for a time at all it does count. Suppose Homura managed to defeat Walpurgis and maaged to keep Madoka from contracting. Does it not count because Madoka would inevitably die one day like the human she is? Of course not. And neverthless, the circumstances of Homura failing once again, and its timing, all depend on whatever is to happen on a new project. If it countinues from Rebellion's scenario however, then it continues from the scenario where Homura 'suceeded' in achieving a goal she had from the start, even if things actually are to go south.
