A combination from just vectors to actual backgrounds taken from the manga they don't really need to be colored, and blank black can fit most of the time but definitely not in the first 7 seconds, you should really try to add something there.
I'm not actually asking you to do a mad like that, yours is actually more like the ones that Donut makes, but you could take reference in some of the editing used in the part 4 mad, you could remove the white from 0:25 too

Johnathan represented extreme good, and extreme good was represented as humanity. As a representation of extreme humanity, he should look like an extreme human while showing that the restraints of humanity are good and to be cherished. Again, that's an art style thing. Jonathan in canon is not supposed to look more muscular than the Pillar Men, just enough to match Dio (since Jonathan grows to respond to Dio). The Pillar Men look skinny in modern depictions too.

If you say that diminishes his impact from a thematic standpoint I'd point out again that Jonathan's superb looking muscles are Araki choosing to represent extremes, and that the character's representation of humanity doesn't come from his looks, but his personality. His looks are there to complement it.

Sorry if I'm coming off as hostile. I just dislike repeating myself but to be honest I'm just happy I get to discuss Jonathan in length. It's nice to actually discuss things in these threads

My problem here comes from the fact that Araki has stated before that Johnathan is meant to be a sort of role model figure to look up and aspire to. To maintain that position while teaching that humanity is to be cherished, there's a disconnect with him in early Araki art, while in the new art he has an attainable, achievable figure while his personality remains the same. I'd also imagine that most adults reading would rather look like new Johnathan then old, and this branches out the appeal of the character to multiple age groups.

And while you are repeating yourself, you're doing it in areas where a different phrasing of what you said would probably have gotten the point across better.

Jonathan being a role model and an expression of humanity does not disconnect from being attainable and achievable. Role models do not need to be relatable or achievable. Look at Jesus for example. A lot of people look up to the character of Jesus but you're not supposed to want to be like him, only follow what he says. Jonathan is meant to be a similar case. Not actually Jesus but more of a saint-like endlessly forgiving hero. Jonathan wasn’t just a good person, he was an uncommonly, almost unrealistically good person - a pure heroic archetype - and he became such partially through his own nature (the noble heart of the Joestars) and partially through his own choices and the pressure applied to him by Dio’s presence. He is not a normal guy. Having an attainable, achievable figure takes away from a perfectly fine concept.

But if you're tired of overanalyzing things let's just agree to disagree.

Normally for role models I would agree, however in this case, I feel that since Johnathan is the pinnacle of humanity, we as humans should be able to reach his level. In someone like Jesus's case, he's not necessarily the pinnacle of kindness, but more the embodiment of it, although you could conceivably say the same about Johnathan himself.

The problem with drawing muscle monsters in the new artstyle (twink-style, that is) is that -certain- characters lose their individuality and purpose.

Characters like Joseph and Jotaro, who are very muscled, can be excused because the core of their characters are asspull tricks and Stands, respectively.

But, the Pillarmen and Jonathan and Dio are different. The Pillarmen, who were based off of the physique of literal Greek and Roman gods, are supposed to surpass human excellence, like gods. Drawing them as twinks makes them human and comparable to everyone else, undermining their entire character. Jonathan and Dio are similar. Dio reaches physical excellence by abandoning humanity, and becomes superior in every way. In order to defeat the Ultimate Evil, Johnathan must master his body and learn the Ripple, proving human excellence by matching him. By doing Phantom Blood in the new twink artstyle, this symbolism is extremely downplayed. Instead of "Wow, Johnathan's true and Noble nature allowed him to become that powerful, as powerful as Dio" it's "huh, I guess Jonathan is strong, I mean if he's winning..."

Also, it helps to differentiate the character. The only reason Araki gave Johnathan Caesar's headband is because him and Joseph look too similar. You wanna know an easy fix? Make Jonathan the only muscle monster in the roster, keeping it in line with his story and struggles, as well as throwing away the need to give him Caesar's headband.

But Araki won't do that because he forgot how to draw muscle monsters. Just look at how he drew Kenshiro. RIP musclebound Jonathan and the struggle you stood for
