I think at this point it's become a sort of inside joke that might work better in japanese then in english. English is all about compressing the language so we have titles like "Mad Men" or "The lobster" since adding a subtitle makes things cheesy ie: Captain America: Civil War. In japanese the language flows better so saying a long title is easier. Or maybe they think it's western and cool to compress language so they pick an absurdly long one and then turn it into a small one : OreImo. Interesting question.
