SnK manga is a snorefest (so is the anime, but at least it looks dope af)

This. Manga was more or less generic loli fan-service. Anime really put a different perspective on it and emphasised the family values.

I disagree with this, a lot of the times, the music used in anime is highly underwhelming compared to what you have envisioned in your head. Beck is the standout example, nothing more disappointing than hearing some band praised to high heavens only for their music to be really generic and bland. At least in manga form there's almost no way they could fail living up to your expectations.

I mean the 97 one of course, it adapts the best part of the story and has stellar music. Now if the manga ended at like the hill of swords for some reason or was that level of quality throughout (as well as level of art) than yeah the manga would shit all over the anime, but ever since the Millenium Falcon arc the manga has been kind of coasting with the boat shit and witch island being straight up mediocre.

I wouldn't count unadapted parts as source material.
