No its not, at least anymore. A few years back after someone realized remakes were doing well that reviviving 'nostalgia' franchises does well too because you get the old fans of the series watching the new shit and the new fans coming of age with their captive audience bux.
Its why Ushio and Tora got made, DBZ, D Gay Man, etc. and it won't be stopping here. They already did yatterman and Time Bokan is already next on the list, those are series that are old enough for only industry veterans to remember.
