Watch the 2012 anime series (Part 1 + 2), then the 2014 anime series (Part 3), read the manga from part 4 onwards (Part 4 - 8), then watch the 2016 anime. The manga updates monthly and is probably the best it's ever been. Araki hardly takes breaks, but if he takes a month long break he usually does other work. he's always releasing something.

Or you could not read the manga, even though the manga is a masterpiece which gets better and better as it goes on and Araki (the creator) gets better at creating stories. If you hang around jojo threads you will 100% be spoiled.

Also make sure you watch the blu-rays, they are a huge upgrade over the original TV broadcasts and aren't censored. The Blu-Rays are out for the 2012 and 2014 series.

I understand but it's not just Hamon though, Jotaro doesn't exactly feel like Jonathan or Joseph. He just gets shit done in a few seconds instead of struggling for a few episodes, he only does that against Dio where he kinda got fucked up and then proceeds to beat Dio somehow.

I like the ora ora but as a protagonist, he's not as compelling as the other two.
