Brief glimpses into the lives of the pilots, each episode centering around a different pilot or squadron. Just a simple arc for each episode based on an event in the character's lives. The episodes end with the characters going back to their daily lives in the war and continuing on. Maybe include an episode on the mechanics and designers.

There's plenty of good stories from random pilots. Try to stay away from aces since anyone interested is going to know everything that will happen anyways. There's things like a P-40 landing with more than half a wing missing.

Don't force emotional garbage into it or some dumb theme that detracts from the stories. Don't force cute boys into it, just leave it as a contrast and standalone.

Alternatively go ahead and make cute fighter pilots doing cute things and stray as far away from from the real stories as possible to avoid being cringey. Just keep it light hearted and use realism as more of an undertone. The butt of the joke can be the fact that some of these things actually happen.

The reason that amphetamines were disappearing from the civilian world is because they needed more of the stuff for the military. Supply could not keep up with demand so they reserved the production they have for military use.

Up until the end, the troops, and especially pilots and tankers, had easy access to amphetamines.

Mind you that's not ripping so much on the Nazis specifically, everyone issued amphetamines to the pilots, because they needed to be on top for the entire flight. On the ground, the Allies had extremely tight control on substances. Also with control of Africa, South America, and India, the Western Allies could afford to issue tea and coffee to the ground troops in large amounts.

Carbon coating on the cockpit only, with a parachute in the cockpit block, and a cockpit ejection system installed in the plane. The cockpits are fitted with an SOS beacon.

Each match would be dogfighting and shit, and the planes would be shot to shreds, with the cockpits surviving and parachuting to safety.
This made the sport very costly, since they needed to basically get new planes entirely if they were shot down.

A boys school is considering to stop the sport entirely because of its costs on top of them not getting a lot of results in it. The students are trying for a good result in what is probably their last entry into the national tournament, hoping to persuade the school to not stop the sport.

>What characters would there be?
MC is a Nishizumi from the male side of the family that does the sport, he didn't make it into the boys' school equivalent of Kuromorimine because he wasn't good enough at it, and ended up enrolling in the boys' school in question.


During one of their matches over the sea, a storm came in and they had to fly in the storm, regardless, the match went on, and MC was shot down. The team went on to win the match, but after landing in the rough winds, everyone starts to worry as the storm was getting too severe for rescue teams to go in. Episode ends with them praying that MC makes it out alive.
Next episode has the MC's cockpit block picked up by Ooarai's school carrier, which led to MC meeting his cousin, Miho, when he was touring the carrier while waiting for a plane back to his school.
