Phantom world wasn't shit. It wasn't great either, but acting like its notably bad is the sign of someone who has seen "a lot of animes, like, nearly 30" and considers themselves "kind of an expert". The only somewhat bad show Kyoani has done in recent memory was Free, and even that was technically competent, just boring as fuck.

Hibike! is trash. Only reason you're getting a season 2 is because Kyoani were idiots and bought the IP thinking it was going to be big, and their animation skills was going to be enough to carry it, but the story is boring, the characters are forgettable, the setting is uninteresting, and the moe situations aren't moe enough. Shit is just not fun to watch, and music is so bad, they fast forward through it so people won't fall sleep. Imagine that, a show about a music band that skips all the music band scenes!
