unless we read different visual novels - which is entirely possible, i used mirrormoon and also i am not the world's least delusional man - i'm pretty sure sensei was able to wreck saber SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE she had instinct, which his martial arts were able to mislead (as opposed to, say, eye of the mind cf. archer)
if your instincts tell you what to do to avoid getting rekt, and they're always right, you're going to follow those instincts up until they lead your neck into the hands of the enemy

The whole point of Kuzuki's Snake is that it defines all combat logic and body expectations, so it's a hard counter to Instinct. Eye of Mind Fake would have been more usefulthere. The same happened to Saber with Diarmuid, Instinct can't give her information she doesn't have.

So Saber was fucked up by rock paper scissors. But it only would work once because once you know the trick Kuzuki is the one fucked.

You do realize magic steroids also enhanced his speed to the point that a servant would have a difficult time responding? Under typical circumstances, a servant can't even be harmed by conventional weapons or normal humans trying to fight them. No one ever questioned this when it happened in the VN, and she got way more wrecked in that version than what Kuzuki did to her in the anime.

Instinct creates expectations on what the oponent is going to do based on experience. His martial art was made to take advantage of that and be unpredictable, to take the opponent by surprise and end the fight quickly, which is why Rider was killed with a single blow to the neck, irrc.

If anything, it wasn't made so that we would think Saber is weak, but to be surprised at how strong Kuzuki + Caster were.

Besides, because of Shirou's inexperience at giving Saber mana, doesn't she have a handicap in almost all situations?
