This stupid idea that Gohan was supposed to be some hardcore badass warrior needs to stop.

None of these half breed sayians have the PATHOLOGICAL urge to fight like Goku and Vegeta.

They have human hearts that yearn for peace just like fucking android 16 said before he died.

Pushed to extreme circumstances they are FORCED to fight, and powerful they can be, but they don't have the mentality of warriors. So Gohan may have been OP in Cell but because he's a human with the heart of a pacifier sucking pussy, he hesitated to kill. Kid Gohan also only really went hard when his friends got hurt. He was shitting himself thru the majority of DBZ. He NEVER fought for himself, EVER.

We also see that in DBS where Trunks desires to netflix and chill with his girl, not be another faggy Super Sayian God.
Finally, as we saw with the entire future timeline. These half sayians are FUCKING USELESS. Without training Gohan didn't really grow, just lose him arm and die and Trunks has to run to the past TWICE for a bailout.

I mean, being a well adjusted gentleman is all fine and good if this wasn't the biggest shonen anime/manga ever. Were they wrote gohan to be an op ass kicker ever since raditz arc were he had hidden potential far beyond goku at that age. Then made him the hero of the most popular arc right after frieza's.
Hell even in the majin buu arc he enjoyed helping people as a fucking super hero and was the first real threat to super buu. I don't mind his mindset of being an everyman at all. But toriyama needs to remember that when shit hits the fan, gohan would always fight to protect those values. Now he's just a dad who can fly, not even showing concern when future trunks came to there timeline again like he was just bored.

It's a nature vs nurture thing. It's reasonable to think Gohan would have been very different if he was primarily raised by his other parent.

Gohan was introduced to martial arts as a vital survival skill, as opposed to a fun sport like Goku wanted to do. Despite that, Gohan still enjoyed training with Goku. So it's completely plausible that we would have a very different Gohan with no ChiChi.

With Sayiaman he was trying to answer the question "What am I supposed to do with these powers?" Why?

Half-breeds may be stronger but they are too gentle thus will never ever reach the potentials like Goku and Vegeta.

Future Gohan was orphaned at 10 and he became the best version of Gohan.

DBZ Trunk and Goten were trash. They didn't do shit and that shitty fusion was not enjoyable to watch fight.
Watching Trunks' NTRs himself is INFINITELY more interesting than watching these two do nothing but lose in Z.
