Q Hayashida's gritty style is deliberate white Tsutomu Nihei's messy drawing is his actual skill. and he really utilized the gritty art style to it's full potential to hide his inability to draw in anime/manga style back in 1998.

Should I go with the Omanga or Tokyopop scans? The Tokyopop ones are way bigger, but they also seem to be upscaled pretty badly. The Omanga ones are fucking tiny, but don't have any jaggies or artifacts as far as I can tell.

Which one would you guys use?

GTI for first 3 volumes (Habanero has re-done first chapter though, so it might be worth grabbing that too), then omanga for the rest. Don't bother with Case-DCP's Tokyopop scans, I don't know what the fuck they did to them but whoever attempted to clean them managed to make them significantly worse in basically every aspect, so that they look significantly worse even than omanga's volume 1 left-to-right ancient overlevelled jpeg french scans.

I haven't commented on TL quality, and the discussion of image quality is pretty vague, but hopefully people will find it useful to get an idea of what release to go for, I know I'd have appreciated this when I first wanted to read it.
