some are, some are not. next question
okay, seriously. Often , there seems to be an extreme amount of homogenity within same genres, with harem shows as the most prominent example. due to the similarity in character morals (example: I must save my friends no matter what, friendship will always prevail) many behaviors are very predictable.
Just like the face-spike and bugeye style, mangaka seem to imitate eachother to a certain degree, even more than western capeshit.
Additionaly, it has far stronger cultural roots in its plot than western comics and cartoons which had more liberal foundations.
