Now here's where I'm much more shakey. Of course, Takuan isn't okay with this conclusion. While he's thinking "whaddafuk", Batsu says he probably can't just trounce her in oni form. Thus, she gives him a weapon.

This is the konshinkon. It's a weapon for underlings, I think, and I think it has SOMETHING to do with emotions. I can't get what Batsu's getting at, but to be fair neither can Takuan. Before he understands anything, Batsu's slaps his butt into the air to engage Ayame.

I quite adore this chapter since it's hearkens back to an implication from chapter 1 that malice isn't simply "evil intentions"m, it's ill will and twisted or fucked up feelings. Takuan was possessed because he despises criminals. Ayame was possessed because she despised her friend and then herself, because her friend was just a victim. It's still "bad", which is enough to get a demon interested in you. That's cool, and opens a lot of doors.

I also like this new weapon. I don't understand it, but a signature weapon is almost always neat.
