Night Raid aren't winning by principal though, it's just that the story has all the good guys on one side and the bad guys with a few exceptions on the other. No one in Night Raid is corrupt or anything, so for all that matters they could be campaigning for genocide against all capital residents and as long as the story paints all the residents in the capital as pure evil no one would give a shit.

It has nothing to do with how they approach a corrupt system or engagement rules. There's no proof that once Night Raid wins the situation will stay better, only that it has a high chance of getting better. The next generation that benefits from the civil war could be slowly or quickly become the next shitters.

For all you know the massive power vacuum and civil war casualties might allow some edgy foreign power to steam roll their ass right afterwards then go rape and snuff 10x harder. Unlikely given the story, but without meta knowledge that logic should be reasonable, if not for the fact that the story isn't reasonable at all.
