Onodera tried, but this story was written for Chitoge and of course Chitoge was going to win. It's kind of funny seeing people take this as such a victory when it's a work of fiction written by one guy who had a clear end in mind. This isn't something reality show that develops overtime, it's fiction and the beginning, middle and end was already done by the One Shot.

She tried three times. Onces when the baseball crashed through the window, once when she asked Raku to kiss her and he was asleep, and once when she knew he was unconscious. There was of course this last time, but that didn't matter since it was too late.

Name fucking one. Don't say working at her sweet shop, because it was her mother and then Haru who asked him to do that. Onodera has never taken the initiative to win Raku over. She only wasted the opportunities that others gave her.

Initially, yes. But that faded over time. It doesn't excuse it, but she hasn't hurt him physically in almost a year. So it's not really valid to criticize her as she is now for that.

This is plainly untrue. She acknowledged her love for him in chapter 49, and has been honest with herself ever since. She just never had the courage to confess. Which is in no way worse than Onodera, who only confessed when she thought she had no other choice because it was her last chance.

Again, this is just not true. Did you read the manga? Chitoge's father told her around chapter 150 that she didn't have to pretend to be Raku's lover anymore. She still kept dating him and spending time with him because she loved him.

Just because you want to turn a blind eye to what actually happened in the manga, it doesn't make your fantasies reality. The fact is that Onodera was too shy and timid, and never took the bull by the horns and went for what she wanted.
It's no mystery. Ruri had been telling her this from the start, but she was too afraid to make a move. And because of it, Raku moved on.
