The illustrations are a troll. Most of the training camp events take place offscreen. Instead of focusing on the new circle's beach activities, they focus on Akane's meeting with Utaha and Eriri. In fact, this is basically the Eriri and Utaha show at this point, they keep on showing up, Tomoya can't stop thinking about them, the new circle members get barely any screentime, the whole series has felt directionless since V8. In this volume even Megumi gets barely any screentime.

Volume 9 was fucking terrible because the last chapter was about Tomoya writing the Eriri route, which consisted of Maruto rehashing all the Eriri scenes from the past volumes and adding a lame beach scene. Volume 10 is even worse, it's rehashing Koisuru Metronome and focuses on Utaha, someone who should've disappeared from the story long ago. At least Eriri had relevance as Tomoya's love interest.

Eririfags and Utahafags were the main fanbase before the anime, but once the anime aired Megumifags flooded the fanbase. He'd probably get more sales if he focused more on Megumi, but at this point I think the reason he doesn't write more Megumi is because he doesn't know how to.
