I didn't expect to find Karen all the way here in /yys/ town. How big is your folder? If it's less than 200 images then you should probably commit. No pressure though.
>>144414893It doesn't exist. It's just one big messy KM folder. It has less than 100 files.Karen looks better with short hair.

>>144415162>less than 100 files

>>144415162
Yeah, okay. That shit is not okay. That shit needs to stop. What's wrong with you? Why would you want such depravity to happen to my Karen? Did long hair hurt you as a child? This needs to stop. Short kimpatsu hair is not beautiful. It is a travesty. You aren't welcome at my family dinners anymore.
>>144415174
/yys/ is slowly dying. These last few threads are not much more than its death screams.
>>144415228
I got you covered, senpai. I uploaded my entire Karen folder earlier today. You can download the whole thing without even an account. I didn't include my supplementary Karen folder, though, because I haven't incorporated that into the main Karen folder yet. At the moment the Drive has 419 images. I downloaded a few more since then but I haven't added them.https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BzDHBeiL3UHrZVFRWXlWN2E0cUE
>>144415320
How many of you are still playing 100% OJ? I picked it up a few months ago.
So I have a question I thought would be appropriate to pose in this thread about the studio Kinema Citrus. Could anyone fill me in on what they are about? I watched YYS way back and have recently been watching Barakamon. I am not really a sakugafag, but the shows seem to have a very particular aesthetic when it comes to animation. Kind of flowy, cartoony in a way, but with a high level of craftsmanship. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a driving philosophy behind the animation or if it is rather the work of a few talented key animators working on these productions. Thanks.
>>144415174
>>144415320
It's good that /yys/ actually lasts only for the yuyuesday sometimes. Keeping it on life support for days every week is not exactly the best way to keep threads fresh.

Higher level physics/math doesn't rely on numbers? How so? Moreover: How could I be expected to know that? All we ever see of "high-level physics" are pictures of blackboards filled with equations.
>>144453382

>>144453777
Don't be silly. Nobody here is actually good at math. They're just making up fake equations so that everybody thinks they're smart.
>>144453968
Algebraic equations almost always have the variables represent numeric quantities. Using variables takes way more math expertise. Besides: Using algebra is elementary. It isn't "high-level" at all.

>>144454066
Equality can be defined for more than numbers. Equality between Hilbert space vectors in QM, equality between groups, sets, fields, vector spaces, etc. can all be defined (up to isomorphism). The A and B in my previous post do not have to be exclusively numbers.
Physics uses this fact a lot more than you think.
>>144455064
But then what does the actual work look like?
>>144455084
What do you mean? Do you want to see an excerpt from my undergrad thesis I did 2 years ago?
>>144455194
You're misunderstood me from square one. It isn't rocket science to imagine that the word "numberphile" can refer to algebra as well. Algebra is also not some mysterious thing that only the highly educated are aware of. Yeesh.
>>144455334
>It isn't rocket science to imagine that the word "numberphile" can refer to algebra as well
Except that I'm not talking exclusively about algebra either.
You simply don't understand the precise definition of what a number is, and that's fine but that's simply not my misunderstanding. I should've expected this from the beginning desu.
/yys/ is mathematical!It scares me!
>>144455457
>>144455456
But it is your misunderstanding because you objected to my use of the word "numberphile" from the very beginning on the basis that I wasn't accounting for algebra.
>>144455980
"Numberphile" is literally a portmanteau for "number" and "phile", the Greek suffix for "affiliate". If you're going to shift goal posts and bend the word's meaning however you like I don't see how we're going to be able to have a meaningful discussion.
And I suggest you look up the distinction between what you think "algebra" is and what "algebra" means to professional mathematicians. Hint: it's not just about manipulating numbers.
>>144455980
I think what he means is that after a certain point in math and (theoretical) physics you stop thinking about concrete numbers and start thinking only in terms of relations and propositions, which is why the being a "numberphile" might not have much to do with it. Unless you want to study number theory or go into applied physics.
>>144456215
You're one to talk about meaningful discussions. Every distinction that you've made to justify your original post has been completely without substance. It's common sense that people who are into higher math have an affinity for numbers. Juggling relations is little different from juggling numbers. You're acting as though I made some sort of mistake by implying that mathematics and numbers go hand in hand. You don't have an argument. You're trying to find fault with the use of a single word when you can't possibly posit a better one to begin with. You say that I've been moving the goal posts, but in reality I've just been trying to give you a platform to work with after you came at me with a meaningless jab. This "discussion" shouldn't be happening to begin with. It's based entirely in your error and ego.
>>144456815
How can you make a sound argument if you've never studied it? Why does your opinion on what mathematics is or isn't matters at all if you don't even have a first hand experience with it? This is so embarrassing.
>It's common sense that people who are into higher math have an affinity for numbers
Common senses are often wrong.
>Juggling relations is little different from juggling numbers
False, and any mathematics major will tell you this.
>You're acting as though I made some sort of mistake by implying that mathematics and numbers go hand in hand
They don't.
>You're trying to find fault with the use of a single word when you can't possibly posit a better one to begin with
I did tell you to google what "algebra" meant, even though I wasn't the one bringing it up.
>You say that I've been moving the goal posts, but in reality I've just been trying to give you a platform to work with after you came at me with a meaningless jab
You definitely did when you say "number" also means "algebra". I don't see how you can wiggle yourself out of this without resorting to irrational ravings.
>It's based entirely in your error and ego.
No, it's based entirely on your insecurity and pretentiousness. Insecurity about the possibility of you being wrong and the pretentiousness of thinking that you know what mathematics is about without going through it.
It's quite frankly pathetic.
>>144457016
Posit a better word than the one I used and tell me why it's wrong to use "numberphile" to refer to math majors. If you can't do that, then all your bloviating is pointless.

Mathematics major here. He's right, higher math has very little juggling of numbers. It's more like a very boring and autistic philosophical discussion about a bunch of abstract concepts. On the occasion that we do talk about numbers (which is much less often than what you would assume, most of the time we talk about structures more complex and more abstract than numbers) it's never to juggle them around. I definitely wouldn't refer to me or most of my teachers and colleagues as numberphiles. In fact people constantly assuming I'm good with numbers because of my math major is quite a drag.
>>144457175
>Posit a better word than the one I used
Algebra, in the strictest mathematical sense, is the study of discrete algebraic objects such as monoids, groups, rings, fields, etc, depending on the extra structure you give to sets (e.g. groups are sets with a closed bivariate map, identity and inverses). These elements can be "manipulated like numbers" but have certain restrictions, e.g. elements of a group do not have commutativity and those of a monoid do not have inverses. It is only within a field that you can do all the operations that you're more accustomed with. This is the difference between your "algebra" (i.e. high school algebra) and my "algebra" (i.e. mathematical algebra).
>tell me why it's wrong to use "numberphile" to refer to math majors
There are countably infinite subfields in mathematics that do not deal with algebra directly, such as topology, differential geometry, category theory, analysis, etc. Statements in these subfields are not proven with algebraic techniques.
Math majors are attracted to spotting relations and the rigorousity of the discipline, not just "numbers" as you so naively think.
I'll just say right now that I'm a mathematical physics grad student studying TQFT so you literally have no leg to stand on.
>>144457599
The word that I used wasn't "algebra" it was "numberphile". I asked you to provide a working substitute to the word that you objected to. If you can't do that, then there wasn't any point in responding to begin with.
The definition of mathematics is even "the abstract science of number, quantity, and space." Objecting to my statement by arguing that "numberphile" doesn't pertain to the few other descriptors in its definition is inherently nonsensical. You'll never find a definition for mathematics that does not mention numbers. Hence that referring to people with an affinity for math as "numberphiles" is entirely acceptable, especially considering that everybody with an education in mathematics started with numbers. You're jaded by your own expertise and can't see an inch in front of your face.
>>144458082
>The definition of mathematics is even "the abstract science of number, quantity, and space."
>using a dictionary for a technical term
You're new to this aren't you? You think the people who made the dictionary have studied mathematics? I'm done being courteous.
>The word that I used wasn't "algebra" it was "numberphile".
Good job shifting the goalpost again you fucking retard.
>I asked you to provide a working substitute to the word that you objected to. If you can't do that, then there wasn't any point in responding to begin with.
How about "mathematician"? Damn moron.
>You'll never find a definition for mathematics that does not mention numbers.

Read it, dumbass. Though I highly doubt you're even able to read.
> Hence that referring to people with an affinity for math as "numberphiles" is entirely acceptable,
Starting with a false assumption will lead you to a false conclusion, fucking idiot. Perfect fucking example right here. At least your complete mental ineptitude could serve as a cautionary tale to anyone reading this set of exchange.
>especially considering that everybody with an education in mathematics started with numbers.
>actually this retarded
Physicists are basically engineers right? Holy shit you cannot be this fucking stupid.
>You're jaded by your own expertise and can't see an inch in front of your face.
I'm jaded that people like you who makes claims in a field he has no fucking ideas about exist. I'm jaded that it's entirely possible that you're just a very dedicated troll fishing for insults and (You)s. I'm jaded that you, at first seem like a level headed person, turn out to be a complete and utter moron riddled with Dunning-Kruger.
This is your last reply. Enjoy you mediocre life.
Are people arguing here or is it just another intelligent conversation that's too advanced for me to comprehend?
>>144458549
The conversation seems to be on the dumber side of the intelligence spectrum so probably the former.
>>144458352
The meaning of words is not established through mathematics. Why would one need an expertise in math in order to formulate the proper way to communicate an idea? It's like saying that a person who is painting a building needs to be an accomplished architect in order to do so and that experience in art would be useless. That said: I'm not going to use that short story as a substitute for the dictionary.
The word that you objected to was "numberphile" and I have demonstrated that it was used properly. You can employ all the ad hominem in the world, but it won't save you from the facts. The second half of your post just consists of arbitrary gripes followed directly by insults. You don't have a platform at all. You're evacuating the argument because you've become catastrophically deranged and have no hope of establishing an argument that can save you. Go ahead and refrain from responding. Just know that this is the way that every internet argument ends.

Yeah you're right. Nobody could be that evil. Not even Hitler could kill a close friend and feel nothing.
>>144464595
No way. Yui is too prideful of her profiteering ways to do something like that. She thinks that there's nothing wrong with aggressively pursuing profit, so she wouldn't be willing to establish herself as an immoral person. She wants to push the narrative that it's okay to be greedy, so if she's greedy and terrible then it goes against her way of life.
>>144464940
Yeah. Hitler couldn't hurt a fly.
>>144465010
Are you saying Yui would never sell her soul to the devil?
>>144465336
Yui would sell her soul if the profit went to her children.
>>144465618
How much percentage would go to Yuzuko's children? Given the fact Yuzuko is DEAD.
>>144465736
Whoa whoa. Selling your soul to the devil isn't the same as murdering someone. Yui wouldn't murder Yuzuko. But if she had the opportunity to literally sell her soul, with some concrete betterment to her dynasty as a result, that would last well after her death, then she would.

Yuzu-chan is the big loser in literally every contest.
>>144466949
>Yuzu a drunkard
>Not Fumi
You are fundamentally backwards AS A PERSON. Fumi can hardly even speak. You think that she'll suddenly develop initiative when it comes to finding a job? She's damaged goods. Nigger I will fight you. Yuzu a math prodigy, Yuzu a success. Facts have been said.
>>144467063
Wrong!! Fool, let me point out to you, that although Fumi is much like Yuzu in the sense they are undercover geniuses and they both love to lollygag, what exactly parts Fumi from Yuzu is that she has her priorities straight without the need of approbation and is not bound to become an aimless underachiever. This is what makes her passive and nonchalant, while Yuzu acts a clown and a chaotic ball of energy always having to fill in the dead air she fears. The fall of Yuzu happens after they graduate and start life, where Yuzuko emotionally disturbed by being alone, her ultimate fear while Fumi is comfortable with solitude.
Yuzu is a mess. A big fat mistake.
She's so weak, it's laughable.

I was once talking to someone named Andres. We were in our high school gym class, during the basketball unit. There was this one weird kid that nobody knew, but looked a bit Hispanic and a bit autistic. Andres, equally Hispanic, walked up to me and asked "Where's the Mexican?" I slowly raised my hand up with my finger pointing directly forward. He nervously said "That's racist."
Then a month or so ago I was watching a video where this black girl is just screaming at this white guy "You're a Mexican! You're a fucking Mexican!". So, naturally, I'm in the comments like "But he doesn't even look Mexican." Boom. It was like setting off a powder keg. There were around 50 replies echoing the sentiment that I was a dumb racist Trump supporter.
Due to these experiences, I think that Hispanic people are VERY touchy about being called Mexican.
>>144505595
Most of my local Mexicans are pretty chill and don't really care too much about that kind of stuff. Except something about Salvadorians, that's the only thing I hear they mention with a bit of sensitivity.
I know they eat beans and rice, but I found it truly bizarre imagining they would try natto 'just like one of my Japanese animes.'
I have a Mexican friend, who I only talk though online now, that loves OSU! for some strong reason and tells me how there's a lot of hispanic players there. He just told me me most hispanics don't get mad for being called Mexican, but then again you'll run into that one person who has "Pride".
