Subs are out
Vice President did nothing wrong
I mean, of course they should've subbed it, but is it really that interesting? It's just the news talking about Reigen running away from the cops and the preview of next episode which we already know what it's gonna be about.
First cour is ~50 chapters of manga.
Can we expect second cour ending with Boss Fight?
I really liked Boss as character, outcome was pretty sick as well.
For those that saw the ending and were like "where does reigen smoke, thats so wrong".
He's obviously taking advantage of Mob, but he seems to care about him genuinely. He definitely doesn't want him to get hurt and his advice about not joining the telepathy club was pretty spot on, even if it was a bit self serving.
I mean, yea, he's supposed to be selfish, but from early on in the series I always kinda got that there was a part of him that really did care for mob deeply
(which was later confirmed) but those underlying positive feelings are absent in the beginning of the anime.
i realize we're only 2 episodes in so it's not something I can really parade around trying to rally supporters to condemn BONES but I hope I see some more of it later on.
Bones is not the one making big cash adapting a manga, they are getting the minimum. Educate yourself on how anime makes it money and then come backback before talking shit. Always these retards in theads.
And its only episode 2 and none of the big story plots have started yet. We saw glimpes of the teru fight and it looked just as amazing. Bones is doing some impressive work here.
Well, specifically talking about the chapter this episode adapted, the point pretty much was that neither Reigen nor Tome were interested in Mob's own thoughts, they both just wanted to use him, only the VP actually asked for his opinion.
>Why? He is an honest and successful man, he always solve his clients problems and his prices are fair.
Ok, I love Reigen, but let me stop you right there. He's only honest when shit really hits the fan. If it wasn't for Mob and the way he weasels his way in when taking and doing his clients requests, he would be just a scammer.
Sure, he does get his development, and I consider him a legit parental figure when and but let's not get carried away.
it's been said before, but ONE's passion is magnetic to talented people.
can you imagine a big shot movie star calling you out of the blue saying they really like your blog and want to work with you?
Stop being so foolish. If the team only cared about "cashing in" then the anime would look nowhere near as polished as it does. It's obvious that so much work has been put into it. If they were going for a quick cash-grab it would be a fairly static looking 1:1 adaptation with little sakuga, hardly any stylistic quirks, and no fucking oil painting sequences which take longer than anything else.
what a slut
The weird thing about Mob is under any other hands it would be such a generic show. The lonely school boy gets magic powers (the best most powerful ever) which earns him a load of friends (including female) and he must train them with his crazy mentor
ONE is just really good at telling such a standard story though, he knows how to actually make these moments work and not just feel by the numbers
It's all about the execution. Mob is a really unique coming-of-age tale filtered through this offbeat psychic lens. I'm also more partial to art that seems amateurish yet has a lot of heart behind it, so it's cool that the anime is going all out in that regard. Good shit.
Definitely more fond of this than OPM, which actually bored me after a couple of episodes.
Thats the appeal of OPM and mob they are so standard and down to earth that you can really relate to them even though they have those insane powers. The fights are never really fights for the sake of winning. They are confrontations of different ideologies most of the time and Mob also gets emotionally stronger not physically like in most other shonens. Maybe i am reading too much into it. But Mob psycho is a really great series and i am happy that it gets such an amazing adaption.
I think OPM overall has better execution of it's core idea but I am much more interested in Mob. It's the slow burn of you realise this isn't just another gag manga but has characters with a decent depth to them
it's got posted in the previous threads as webm
Agreed. OPM nails the whole urban ennui thing but Mob is a much more fascinating character. Haven't delved that far into the manga yet but there's a very compelling side cast too with characters like Ritsu and Reigen. It's definitely a series that catches you off guard.
I'm kind of bummed Ritsu and Teru don't actually get much screentime after the first fight with the seventh branch. The arcs that followed were so good but I wish One found room for those two.
What will it take to get you to join my club anon?
Tweet from Miyo Sato (person who does the oil painting sequences)
>The Mob ED wasn't something I did entirely by myself. It was thanks to the director and other professionals from Bones' help that it came together. When I saw the final product, I felt truly glad, knowing that I'd completed something that I couldn't have done on my own.
OPM gets you in the first chapter/Episode, it has such a universal concept everyone can get behind by just reading the Title. Mob is a bit harder to get into cause of the slow start. Once teru and ritsu come into play tho. Shit gets outta control.
They're really taking this adaptation to an other level.
In reality, you'd just be a beta orbiter without the guts to make a move.
I know I would be.
This joke stopped being funny the second time. It's not going to start being funny again after 100 times.
They love the series, simple as that.
You can't achieve this level of quality if the people working on the show don't love it. Budget has nothing to do with it.
Just take one look at the official twitter, and you can see how many people are excited to be working on the show. Heck, Kameda's entire twitter is filled with Mob shilling and exclamation points because he loves working on it so much.
Most casuals don't give a toss about artistry besides over the top fight scenes and explosions. The character designs aren't conventionally appealing. People think an anime has to deal with a super unique theme or have waifus for it to be AOTY.
Are you ready
For Mesato to become girl of the season, nay, year?
Oil painting on glass doesn't make rotoscoping impossible. Glass is transparent.
The city scenes were definitely rotoscoped, just look at how the camera shakes. Not that it's a bad thing.
Yes, she might care about him. At this point, that's the most Mob has. A "might".
And no, just because I don't think he has any viable romantic interests at this point doesn't mean I want him to be gay, you fucking retard.
Films are an acceptable form of entertainment in society. Video games and comics are not, those are simply mediums that exist only for children. If you don't outgrow them, then you will be shunned by society, and end up alone with only your autism and fake online friends to keep you company.
Glad to see the indication that the Body Improvement Club are bros right off the bat. Best characters
I'm already bracing for the "this is just re-skinned OPM with ghosts" shitposting that's going to constantly happen after episode 3
That's exactly how Reigen acts early on. He constantly has these inner dialogs where he is worried Mob is going to figure out his scam and leave.
I hope they don't cut this from next weeks episode.
Maybe if you stopped caring so much about what other people think you'd live a happier life, drop the self-loathing and make friends with people who share your interests in real life.
>Films are an acceptable form of entertainment in society
You can't be serious.
Even if they are "acceptable", i'd rather watch a washing machine's cycle. Your average film is just as shallow as your average anime, if not more. With the plus of being boring as fuck.
>(((films))) are (((high art)))
You got that right, greatest ally.
>many of those autismos are finding jobs, marrying and breeding now
Then it seems like the problem is less that there aren't available people to make friends, you're just to embittered and cynical to even take a chance to find a few people, or you're no good to be around in the first place.
>implying I'm neurotypical
/a/ brainwashed me for years into thinking that it's taboo to reveal your powerlevel to anyone and it fucked me up. Years ago I was just as edgy, shuddering at the thought of letting anyone know I'm into Chinese cartoons because most people here lead me into believing that I'd be hung out to dry. But after years of this shit I finally started liking myself more, got hooked up to some decent meds, and found people who liked the same shit I do.
Anyway that's enough blogshit. Post more Mob.
Are you speaking of yourself? What does watching anime have anything to do with how you are supposed to live your live. Not bragging but i am fit, have bitches to fuq and friends to party with AND watch anime. Dont think just cause you follow a certain hobby that you have to be like them.
Look man some people can't help having chemical imbalances. What's the big deal if helps balances things out or makes them a little happier? If anything it's weak to be so small-minded as to laugh at those people.
Anime is a medium that is sadly only done in Japan in a serious fashion. Doesnt have aynthing to do with "high art" wtf does this even mean. 70 years ago people said the same thing about movies. Just from reading your post you sound like a sheep.
Mesato a shit
At least Tome is genuinely interested in telepathy
I'm a Hitchcock fan through and through but so many people think watching a top twenty list all the way through suddenly means that they're 'cultured' and are eligible to take a snobbish approach towards any other medium. What's most ironic of course is that those lists are the equivalent of checking out a plebbit list featuring Cowboy Bebop.
>hurr stop watching anime and get yourself a REAL medium
We dont really have this nerd culture thing ingrained in germany. Most people here grew up wiht anime some still watch them. No big deal. I go to the gym meet friends and watch anime. You can do too. Isnt that the message that ONE wants to tell us? Getting a girl is the hard part but apps like tinder help.
It's just an expected thing for mediums that are still relatively young. Compared to something like literature or really old visual art mediums, film and animation simply haven't had the prevalence and centuries of time to pump out a comparable number of master works and respected classics. All they need is more time, even if that time surpasses any single lifespan.
Reigen's supposed to come off as a manipulative fraud early, the reveal that he genuinely really cares about Mob is a slow build. You can see some signs of it early but it really doesn't start being obvious until the Teru and Seventh Branch arcs.
No. The Ritsu arc is plenty dramatic on its own and to put a random fight in would really hurt it. If Bones is truly passionate about the series, they will let it speak for it self.
If they do feel like they "need" a fight scene they will just ape one of the small ghostbusting stories.
>Its not too much to ask people to be decent.
Damn it, mob threads have indeed been invaded by redditors and tumblrinas.
Please lurk 2 years before posting or go fuck yourselves.
And which proof do you base that on? If it has anything to do with God and determinism, build a time machine and kindly fuck off to several centuries ago. You'll find much more sympathy for your poor life choices there.
Any confirmed episode count? I'm a filthy animeonlyfag right now but I see people mentioning Claw, Boss, and The World Tree as if its far off, but apparently some images are in the OP so we might get there. Anyone know?
>Only 12 episodes
That's upsetting, I really hope we do get a second cour.
12 episodes are confirmed, we will likely get to around the halfway mark. The OP alludes to a lot of things, both things we will get to and things that even a two-cour anime will not be able to go into detail about.
Fucking sweet. My only concern might be that Bones has been doing nothing but 2-cour and split cour shows since like last Summer. I'm not sure thats good or bad, but I feel like not many studios end up doing nothing but split cour shows for so long. I expected at least one or two throaway one-cour shows at least.
Also I'm pretty sure I've loved everything Bones has been doing since Kekkai Sensen. Damn are they a great stuido.
Do you actually have any convincing proof or reasons for why, or is it a fun hobby to spew out of your ass? There's a reason deteriminism has been tossed in the garbage for a good couple centuries by now.
Is it really the end? Is this really how it will turn out to be?
Are we literally being chased out of our own house by literal normies? Has 4chan finally become reddit?
What is happening to this thread? There is a lot of retarded shitposting.
How can the thread on the day the episode is out end up worse than the ones we had last week?
It's the year 2016 anon, get with the times. I know it must feel comfy to follow a philosophical model that removes the burden of regret or responsibility for your actions, but come on. Even Buddhism would be more productive.
Muslims are disgusting lazy savages but lets not forgot that they’re merely a tool being used by the rothschild family and the israeli zionist establishment to weaken europe in much the same way that Sauron used the Orcs to terrorize Middle-Earth.
Where my fellow Fujos at? Lack of cute pictures in here is sickening.
Will spamming fujoshit scare them away?
I told you. The anime comes out and all the whit of the earth comes out. Some say it's Reddit some say it's tumblr but I know in Tokyo Ghoul's case it is a few batotofags that we even know the names of.
Oh boy I can't wait for this to be animated. Fucking Mogami arc. I wonder if Bones will drag it out.
Student Council needs more art.
There's this thing called "culture" that is usually developed in the places where social interactions occur. When there's a new group, tat comes and starts blatantly acting against this culture, you know something is going on.
Not that you would get it anyways, faglord.
I feel it won't work on these ones, but it's neve a waste of time
It's not a philosophy, it's an observation. If you observe everything that happened before an event took place, then you realize that there was never any other possible outcome.
I'm not who you were even arguing this, I'm just astonished that people actually think that "It is the current year" is a statement that is remotely meaningful in any context outside of time travel.
I can't wait to for the Teru arc. It's weird, the comic says he's brunette but I've always seen him as a blonde anyway.
Does it? I always assumed he was blonde too
I hope we get to 7th Branch. But I really hope we get two cours.
It is a meaningful statement though. It to demonstrate that we no longer live in a world where people believe in those outdated ideas, because we've progressed farther as a society. It's to encourage people to move on and get with the times already.
We already know we're getting through the claw branch in the first 12 episodes, and there's another 12 episode cour in the future.
WEBSITE LEAKS SON
I keep wondering where his earrings are in every episode.
I hope we don't have to wait too long for the second cour
2-cours are usually just waiting a full season before restarting, like with ConRevo and soon with Bungo Stray Dogs. I think Hero Academia is an exception to this rule because the process allgedly started when the first tankobon was being released and they weren't sure whether there'd be enough material or interest to warrant a split-cour
>End of the Claw arc at episode 12
I pray to god they don't do this, you need to work through Dimple, Teru, Ritsu, and then the Claw. That shit is easily 2 cour or it'll be the most butchered adaptation ever.
Mob is fucking OPM clone even by the same author. It's boring as fuck, it's shit.
It's just 7th Branch, not full Claw. Dimple will be one episode (next weeks). Teru's arc is the next episode and can be covered in 2. Ritsu and Claw 7th Branch can definitely be covered in the rest.
Fuck, that punchline caught me off guard.
Haven't laughed so much from something so unexpected in a long time.
>People just endlessly shitting on Mob Psycho now
ONE is highly regarded for his paneling and visual story telling. manga and comics are closer to the art of cinematography in that regard. you're missing out if you can't watch something like the original star wars because the special effects are amateur by today's standards.
That hardly makes it a "generic battle shonen", it's still the exact same content outside of the opening shot, just shuffled around in order to tell the story in a cohesive manner for an anime adaptation.
They used episode 1 to setup mob by moving the tunnel biker gang there (instead of putting them between Dimple and Teru) and used the girl's school ghost to underline Mob's desire to be popular.
It's literally the same content.
Biker gang is an omake, they could just not adapt it really. Showing he can be cool using psychic power when the whole reason he joined the body improvement club is because he thinks psychic power is useless is also stupid.
>Does the comedy get better in this or will it always be who can scream the loudest and who's face can get closer to the screen?
Don't know what you're talking about. The humor in this ep was based around how pathetic the Telepathy Club members were, not the exaggerated reactions of the characters.
>Showing he can be cool using psychic power when the whole reason he joined the body improvement club is because he thinks psychic power is useless is also stupid.
He has no problems with using psychic powers to defeat spirits. I don't see how the two scenes contradict each other.
The fact that Mob is cool and has psychic gifts but doesn't think they're special is a recurring theme in the entire series. That duality gets shown time and time again. Psyhics that think they are special and use their powers to be cool like Teru are repeatedly cut down. Mob not thinking being psychic is anything special and being jealous of Ritsu's fitness, smarts, and social skills are the main reason why Ritsu goes berserk.
The high school chapter isn't even really to establish him being cool, in the manga the ghost's words have an effect on him in the same way, he feels as though he's wasting his life and unable to impress women, not that he's "uncool".
Mob attracting random girls isn't even what matters to him, it's obvious he values Tsubomi above everyone else, which is again established here.
In the manga girls were eyeing him and Teru outright told him he's handsome.
Random people from the street was eyeing him. If it was just Teru you might have a point but he's definitely catching the eyes of lots of girls now.
>Showing he can be cool using psychic power when the whole reason he joined the body improvement club is because he thinks psychic power is useless is also stupid.
Is episode 3 going to be like Meduka's episode 3? You know, have everyone thinking the show was some weird SOL-comedy with some shounen battles only to take a darker turn and then every anime-only realizes they're in for some deep shit?
The only girls "close" to him is picture related, when random girls were looking at him, he was next to Ritsu and Teru.
Also, Teru was messing with Mob when he told him he was handsome, if you miss that somehow.
I don't know about that >>144380089 goes counter to that especially the words "recently". Anyway it seems to be related to what ever the broccoli mob is, something related to mobs emotion or something.
>Mogami arc is forced drama
1000% reigenis an asspull
>Mob psycho is generic shonen/OPM 2.0
>REEE zero fags
What else did I miss?
Ritsuposting is stupid because Ritsu isn't the type of person who would go on 4chan just to anonymously defend himself or even be on this website. It's (started off) funny with Reigen because it's not out of character and is a reference to what happened in the mango.
And Reigenposting would be entertaining if it wasn't mostly copypastas.
I prefer Mob Psycho but OPM absolutely nails its core idea down and is fantastic in its concept. As a story, it's a pretty great satire of superheroes, superhero media, and superhero culture from a guy who clearly loves superheroes. ONE just thinks they are also bullshit and highlights how and why by writing his own story. OPM is a fantastic parody of superhero media. Murata's redraw often misses the point and the pacing/paneling of ONE's story and since it's so flashy its easy for casuals to hook on to and be like "one punch!! xD epic"
The Monster Association arc in OPM is a masterwork. I'd put it up there or above the Mogami arc in Mob Psycho.
I prefer Mob Psycho 100 but OPM is good in its own right. But I much prefer the original OPM manga to the anime adaptation, while I think this Mob adaptation is very good and could be even better.
Waiting a whole week for episodes is rough.
>Oh! Well, when the staff was reading through the Mob Psycho together, the topic repeatedly came up. You give off a very rustic, simple air. A good-natured vibe. As for me, well, I’m a bit of the opposite. I think it was Kameda (Yoshimichi), our character designer, who said it, but… uh, he called me “real shady” (Laughs). And then he immediately went on to talk about how much of a good person you are. And you honestly do come off as a decent person, so we were wondering whether Mob was based on you.
apparently ONE is fucking adorable
So is Tome-chan never going to have a line again? I actually liked her
Yes, she's a minor character but she shows up a decent amount considering her role in the story.
She convinces Mob to help her find telepaths which usually involves the two of them going to the park together to people watch
At this point of the story Mob is a bit deluded and thinks girls are all over him, but that's the joke, they're not really. He IS in a way better position with women than he starts out with because he is able to talk to more of them but he is definitely not some kind of pussy-slayer
People on the street are recognizing him now because of Psycho Helmet
He's actually better than most "psychics" because he doesn't resort to paranormal explanations for every single problem.
That's the mark of someone who legitimately believes in the paranormal and wants to help others and is not just a delusional/drug using hippie out to scam someone out of their money.
Well obviously Reigen believes in the paranormal, Mob is a legitimate esper
He does use weird paranormal explanations for every problem ("one click curse"), he just also solves them (massage) instead of waving his arms and pretending to solve them
He's also the only one to realize Mogami has posessed the girl in that arc because of psychological tells and contradictions, not relying on pure paranormal power. Reigen is a good person once he gets character development but he is also a very perceptive and charismatic person. Which is why he ends up having all of those legitimate psychics believe in him and follow him during the latter half of the manga.
Fuck man this show is so good this is exactly the same feeling I get when opm still aired last year hype the fuck out. What a time to be ONEfag. That OP and fukin ED probably the best ever that came out tho year.
I don't see it as a parody of the superhero genre.
I see it as more of a social commentary of modern Japanese society.
Most stories with "heroes" start off with a "chosen one" so to speak. This person is meant to go through many trials to rise to the top and and eventually gain the fame and recognition they deserve. Saitama isn't like that, he is a normal person who was meant to just be another cog in the machine, a worker who would get a career and never do anything too extraordinary or impressive. Most heroes embark on a long journey or the "hero's quest" to achieve their great power, they were destined to do this. Saitama, as an everyman, was not. He denied his fate and trained for three years straight, skipping all of this. It was because of the fact that he was no one special that he could skip all of the typical shonen tropes to gain immense and unbeatable power. However, he was not supposed to do this, such a thing isn't allowed. In Japanese society being a rebel is shunned and looked down upon. Conformity is expected, this is why Saitama can never feel the same satisfaction that most heroes would. He was never meant to. OPM isn't so much about criticizing superheroes/shonen as much as it is about criticizing Japanese society for being so unforgiving towards outsiders. I think the "God" we saw in the MA arc with homeless emperor is somehow tied to this. ONE's view of how outsiders are treated in life is a common theme in his works.
Of course, I could just be projecting.
The amount of girl characters associated with mob is quite staggering to the point I thought it was going to turn into harem. Well at least if we compare it to OPM I was quite overhwhelmed to be honest.
Well of course, The tunnel Omake was basically an alternate introduction to the story, so we had two instances of the same thing happening (not that it's bad, as Mother's Basement explained)
When he's at
1000% GRADITUDEhe actually uses it really well.
Without it, it seems like at most he can see Dimple when he's not in his invisible mode and sense something's bad when spirits are around.
So basically, not much.
>OPM and Mob used to be comfy threads pre-anime
>Mob threads would barely break 300 posts not half a year ago
>OPM turned into such terrible shitposting threads when the anime started
>and now Mob threads are being spammed by fujo crap and >"its le OPM clone, so bad XD" shit
Can we just have a nice thread please?
Ha,that's nothing, I'm 35. I gradualy lost interest tho over the last 10 years with exeptions like one punch and this one. They have this very nostalgic vibe and great animation. You're never too old to apreciate good animation.
Is camera girl best girl or does she
just never do anything aside from get Mob to learn about his cult?
Don't forget his secret power that exceeds the power of ESP.
His secret technique he uses to turn the tides of battle against the strongest Esper even seen in the comic.
The power of humans, not Espers!
>How to fight
That's really cute. ;_;
>No Omake Chapter where the vice president fights the people who beat up the president
I didn't realize I needed this.
They should be able to get through 7th Branch in 12 episodes.
They won't come close to Broccoli though, I think that's just in there for the fans, especially considering there's nothing in there to hint at Mogami or Claw HQ which are both critical.
7th branch by 11, side story for 12
probably get split cour tentative on how successful this is. but the staff sounds like they enjoy working on it so much they'll probably do it even if it doesn't maximize profits.
I remember the first time I saw them on tokyotokoshan with the tag line "We're absolutely horrible so we won't lose!"
They beat everyone every week forever, thank you capitalism.
Maybe more people will do art of the student council once we hit the Ritsu arc.
But they actually got shit done, it was the girls school in nichibros that had a lazy student council right?
I for one welcome our fujo overlords and judging from that ED so does the staff. They'll be the ones buying up all the merch so be thankful that they exist.
I rather have cute pictures than that shitfest that happened earlier.
He stopped having that design when he no longer cared in trying to fulfill his family's expectations and get pushed around by his older brother. The trashbags in this guy's room was filled with energy drinks and supplements that it's strange how he managed to keep going despite lacking sleep and being filled with stress. The SC President is one of the most misunderstood characters. He only did everything to live up to everyone's expectations so that his family would be proud of him and stop comparing him and his brother.
