I'm bored and thinking of watching GX, but there's a lot of shit putting me off. Some questions:

1. Can it be found at least 720p anywhere? I can't take 480p shit.

2.Does it have a lot off asspull scenes? I know it's Yu-Gi-Oh and the whole premise is built off the protag drawing the right shit, but stuff light fusion summoning would always require poly and shit. I guess what I'm asking is, do the duels try and make a little sense, or is it like DM?

3.Is the series worth watching for closure? I watched 5Ds/Zexal and then started Arc-V. I'm up to date with Arc-V and just watched the latest ep. I found 5Ds to be my favourite; the music was on point and I loved Jack. Zexal was bad in comparison, but Zexal II was good and Kaito was awesome.

Is GX entertaining/ have a good story? I don't want to sit through it all for a bullshit/open ending. 5Ds had closure, Zexal did to some degree, but still left it a bit open.

4. Is Judai a good duelist?

Sorry, GX is 640 x 480. As >>144043062 said, it started airing back before HD was really a thing and kept that resolution throughout the entire run. Obviously, chances of HD remasters are zero to none.

It is worth watching if you've seen the other spin-offs and I find GX to be absolutely entertaining, even most of its filler is fun. It does get crazy at times in the earlier seasons, but that's part of the enjoyment IMO. GX is more of a series for its characters than its plot however, but season 3 I have heard few negative responses regarding it overall. As for the ending, the "main 4 characters" do graduate and while Sho, Asuka, and Manjoume's character arcs did get closure, Judai's was left pretty open, and you'd know for the most part if you've seen BBT.

If you must, take advice from this watch guide. I find it to be mostly accurate for the first 2 seasons of GX.

Synchro arc soured many people who now just hate-watch and can't get excited about anything. A lot of hype about plot points that were teased in Standard and are being realized now like the mind control died down while in Synchro since it didn't develop those hints.

Personally I'm excited and while I never hated Synchro that much, I think the series is fully back on track now, and that we're gonna get our minds blown once the truth about the counterparts, Hitoshi Ni and the arc area project are revealed

I didn't hate Synchro as much as I was bored by it. I stopped watching it weekly and binge watched it 10 episodes or so at a time to not be too left behind on what was happening, and I feel like that made it easier to swallow.

This. Making a group of characters and having them have almost no interaction thorough the arc was a retarded decision. Especially since that was one of the series high points back in Standard.
The plot of one guy from Fusion going rogue and trying to take over Synchro was alright, if pointless to the overarching story. And speaking of him, Roger was entertaining. I didn't mind Crow, and I hated him back in 5D's.
If the characters got to work off each other more it would have been a way more fun to watch arc. And that would possibly made the whole Commons vs Tops thing more bearable.

Also, one big reason I remember the first round of the MCS (up to the start of the second round) fondly is that it felt like Yuya, Yuzu (and Gon to an extent) were really trying to be in this thing together, and work towards a common goal. If Yuto didn't become banana's prey, it looked like he would also been in it with them, working and talking with them to find shit out. They were interacting and trying to work things out face to face, not through tv screens in some dumbass hotel.

Building relationships like this between at least a few main members of the cast is what leads to those emotional kinds of duels that Yugioh series are remembered for despite whatever shit that was slogged in the middle.

Where are those strong relationships in Arc-V? Yuya and Yuzu get more fanwanking and shipping than actual, substantial screentime together. Yuto only recently started talking and has just been there to be impressed by Yuya's entame. Gon and Sawatari hover in the background being useless, just following wherever Yuya goes, not really talking with him as something like equals.

There's not even any bromance in the same vein as Yugi and Jounouchi, or even Yuma and Shark. Where the fuck are the hotblooded friendships? Yugioh has always pushed cheesy nakama stuff, but it's a lot more convincing when there's friendships that have actual presence.
