Natsu. It's all Natsu's fault. Throughout the episodes, everyone had good intentions and helped out Machi to the best of their abilities. Natsu had been unknowingly sabotaging Machi and her attempts to become a city girl at almost every given opportunity.

Hibiki might have been physical but she cared enough about Machi to tell Yoshio off about his treatment of Machi like a doll. They all had good intentions but flawed execution, except for Natsu. He was screwing up Machi's attempt to become a city girl, knowingly or not.
