The setting. It is amazing. This is the definition of a slice of life anime. I like Alpha very much.

It literally cures you of your pain and misery. It's seriously the ultimate escapism manga of all time.
I mean that in the best way possible too, because once it ends you feel empty as hell.

The relaxing but somewhat urgent nature of a slowly dying world.

The characters who deal with the transience of life.

How the manga seems to concentrate on the present rather than the past and future.

It's the type of show that makes me hate that I'm alive in this world.

It really make you feel like you're living inside a empty futuristic world. Too bad hitoshi ashinanos newer work doesn't capture the same atmosphere. They seem to "shiny" and the characters are forgettable other than pic
