You say that like it's a bad thing, but the truth is Zestiria never had much story to begin with,most of the latter half of the game was filler of the party needing to "git gud" so that they could defeat Hedalf, so much so that even if they did do a straight adaptation it wouldn't take more than 12 episodes to complete since they'd have to cut out all the fluff, and that's being generous.

Not to forget one of the bigger problems in Zestiria was the fact that the cast was only concerned with the problems of Seraphs and didn't give a shit about human problems until it they blew up in their face. Having at least one character be a voice of reason telling them to stop acting like elitist pricks and forces the cast to gain some perspective while expanding the story.

The sheer force of the anger they exhibited was far too much, I agree. Death threats, mailing suspicious substances, and blaming a VA who has no control over anything about the game is going way too far. However, from how it was marketed at the start, Alisha was going to be the heroine. She was going to be prominent in the story and worth getting invested into. Having her get replaced by a character that was completely unlikeable was an attempt at clever story-telling that failed utterly. I didn't mind the character switch all that much myself, other than Rose being a major cunt. But we never saw the marketing blitz setting up Alisha to be the main girl with nary a mention of Rose.

I guess I'm trying to say that waifu fags are too extreme and the writers should be able to use bait and switch as a tool to make an interesting story. However, the girl they replaced Alisha with was fucking annoying and thus inferior. Regardless of the other issues the story has, and regardless of whether or not the switch out was intended from the start, it was poorly handled and we'll probably never see anything like it again.

It's probably the least interesting of all the 3D games with free-run. You must have Sorey and his squire in the field, so you can't have an all-Seraph party. I noticed when playing as the Seraphs that Armatizing was clunkier- the game puts priority on Sorey's actions so if he's in the middle of a combo as an AI you have to wait for it to finish before you can combine. It puts a ton of emphasis on hitting enemy weak points over anything else and of course the camera gets stuck on random shit which makes it hard to see what's going on in tight spaces. Ally AI is retarded no matter what settings you use, though you can mitigate the worst of the stupidity.

It's easy to complain. The fights are usually fast swapping between seraphim on the fly can be fun. Bosses suffer from being tough by virtue of breaking the rules of the game rather than any cleverness on the AI or designer's part, but that's hardly a problem unique to Tales or even JRPGs.

Sorey was established to have no female love interest and Mikleo is given the title of Sorey's 'One and Only' by Baba and ingame. At the end of the game, Mikleo is the only person he reunites with and it's implied they will spend eternity with each other fulfilling their dream of being nerds.

It's an priest that you can find in Pendrago side quest for the Iris Gem. You hear there is a mass murderer and so you check it out, only to find out that it was the priest in Pendrago shrine. When the characters wonder why he never turned into a hellion it's outright stated that it was because he really did believe that what he was doing was right. A similar cut scene happens after Rose kills the cardinal wherein Lailah points out that Rose remains "pure" when she kills because she truly believes that she has a right to do so. However you find out that the cardinal was the exact same way as both Rose and the mass murdering priest, two characters that the game outright said didn't become hellions despite being murderers because the thought that what they were doing was right.

By Zestiria's own internal logic the cardinal shouldn't have become a hellion.

Initially, I think the cardinal was a good person and then the pope jumping ship, the war, etc took it's toll on her. Ultimately that's what turned her into a hellion and after that she had an "epiphany" of what she needed to do. Almost all the intelligent hellions achieved a certain purity of thought the moment they actually broke. The difference with the mass murdering priest is he was just a terrible person to begin with.

Malevolence is not really about being evil, it's about a serious psychological break down or denial of reality. There has to be something that can crack for it to get inside.
