If the boxes are in another state, the way that you transported them to your new state? There's no real safe way without the boxes, but wrapping them with paper/bubblewrap is probably the best you can do unless you want to make foam molds for them.

Same for me. The HDD and NEXT forms are all right, but outside of White, Ram, Rom, and maybe Purple, Nepgear, and Iris, their default attire has never really grabbed me as much as their normal forms or the HDD forms in alternate attire. The Purple Heart in the OP looks nice.

Can kind of understand why they do it since the normal forms for the most part lean more towards cute while the HDD and NEXT forms lean towards sexy, but it'd be nice to get a mixture of both and not just the latter.

Does anyone know a good place to purchase plastic doujinshi covers? I don't mean the plastic baggies to put them in, but an actual plastic cover that stays on the outside while you read them? I occasionally get a book with one already on it when I buy secondhand from Japan, so I know this kind of thing exists but all I can find with Google is the baggies for US comic books.

I've found a few things with Alibaba but I'm kind of iffy on the chemicals from China.

I don't mind that they are bent so much, as most books can be fully scanned with minimal damage and it's not really noticeable if you press them afterwards with heavy books. Some types of binding don't require you to damage the spine/cover at all. Plus it's not like the value matters to me as I'm never going to sell them, and with my shit taste in series I doubt I'd be able to find buyers.

Mostly I worry about the extremely dusty environment I live in damaging the pages and covers which is why I was looking for slip covers. They are easier to wipe down than paper.

I'm curious about how much a book scanner costs though. What type do you have and would you recommend it? My scanner is reaching the end of it's functional life, and as much fun as its dying breaths are providing, I've been looking at replacements.

You can find out whether you got a good deal by comparing prices to legitimate and competitive online shops which are conveniently detailed in the guide.

At conventions it is recommended to not purchase figures unless they are from the GSC booth or if you are experienced enough to know what you are doing. You will end up overpaying for a prize figure or bootleg.

I scanned a few ones normally and the damage it left was enough for me to look for alternatives. Maybe I'm just really autistic over it, but it looks pretty bad to me. No amount of pressing ever got rid of those lines.

The one I have is the optic book 3900. It works pretty well but it's still a pain if the drawings are too close to the gutter. You still have to press it and it eats a little bit off, but it doesn't leave any crease marks on my books so I'm happy.

But if you don't mind crease marks it's better to get one of those flatbed scanners. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper.

They always have a surplus and they come in already divided sections of six or twelve.
