the future letter shit is really bugging me now. if you watched Nana, the way the voice over narration in the beginning and end of each ep gave the show this pseudo-autobiographical feel and it was sweet. it was sentimental and gave the whole thing a reason to be bittersweet because life is good and bad. Orange gets rid of any reason to feel anything because the letter is from the future and tells you what will happen. there's no way this shit will have the balls to do something like having Kakeru commit suicide again. Something about episode two was deeply unsettling to me. The conversations between the characters were completely nonsensical to the point that they were hard to bear, their awkward facial expressions reminiscent of the music video for DyE - Fantasy, the characters laughing at completely unfunny things, everything was so weird and removed from reality that it almost made me dissociate myself.

-Even for the most generic of shoujo, Naho is an irritating little cunt

-The music is rather ill-fitting in some scenes

-In all of the scenes, the music is louder than the people talking and it gets annoying after a while

-The direction is pretty weak as well, the seizure-inducing cut-cut that happens every 1 second (namely in the scene in today's episode when Kakeru is playing soccer) is annoying

I'm reading the manga so that I can discuss here without getting spoiled, so I didn't even look through this thread before blogposting. I'm sorry, but I just have to let it out. I'm on chapter 10 and this is hitting way harder than I expected it to, even though (actual spoiler, avoid this if you haven't read the manga) Kakeru committing suicide in the future didn't come as a surprise.Actually, I can't even blogpost properly. It's hard to explain. It's just so painful to read, and I was even thinking about dropping it because it's that hard, but that's not fair because it's actually an interesting story. I just hope I can see it through to at least a bittersweet ending. But even then I don't think it would make me feel better.

Pic related (again, actual spoiler) is a screenshot the first thing that got me, and that is nothing compared to how I feel now. From there it's just been tumbling down desu senpai.

At least I'll be able to read the discussions without worrying about spoilers after this.
