How did they let this pass? There is no color harmony in this shot, one of the things anime is usually good at. Why didn't they paint the textures onto the 3d instead of going with what looks like an unfinished software playblast?

At least the latest episode had a Hirasawa song and the later backgrounds were painted.

This is one of the rare instances where I can't fault the adaptation team: there's a very distinct contrast between shabby-looking Guts and the immaculate armor of Farnese's group, he really does stand out

All in all, the fact that the show looks best in screenshots rather than in motion is a testament to whoever was in charge of coloring the models. They did a better job than anyone else.
