This, they really have one of the best relationships in anime where their relationship grows with each episode, where they fight and make-up, where they bring out the best in each other, complete each other in every sense and help each other self-actualize. The whole girlXalien symbiote clothes is novel, I love that the fights are all about them working together, the fucking theme of the show is their love song, shit their best as hell.

I can't think of another show that had so much passion and style put into it.
I remember people really excited all through the show and once it became too popular hate posts started to crop up and I was so confused because there's absolutely nothing to hate in this show at all.

After that it starts to turns to shit. I can't believe how many terrible decisions were made in this show after that.
Particularly the second half.
While the first half becomes super predictable at least it has a driving force behind it. The 2nd cour was directionless garbage.

I actually agree, the anime got me hooked in the first half but while I enjoyed the second half I couldn't help but feel that it felt kind of different (in a bad light).
Nui was hyped as strong and fearful in the first half (kind of promising a great future battle) but she was killed without putting up a good fight, like if she was nothing.

The final fight was pretty "expected" tier and didn't build up tension/hype like in Gurren Lagann (which is the opposite of KLK, second half is hype as fuck and the updated final fight in the last recap movie is 101% perfect), I think these two anime are pretty similar and while KLK caused me a better first impression, Gurren Lagann still is objectively superior.

Dropped it after 3 episodes. Does it get better? I even get that it's supposed to be a parody/over the top, but even so I didn't enjoy it much

Episode 4

This show was so extravagant, I loved it. Everything done was exaggerated. Everyone was always yelling at top volume, making dramatic actions and poses, or yelling louder than before. It was one helluva ride from start to finish, and it was exciting enough to get me pumped up after watching an episode. There was always moments where you could yell "OH SHIIIIIIIIIT" harder than old fart Joseph Joestar. Just thinking about the plot on its own is crazy enough. First half is pokemon with badass fights and nude humiliation stationed in a high school run like North fucking Korea (gotta catch all the life fibres from the club presidents to fight the elite 4 and then the champion). Then the second half of the show is suddenly World War Z mixed with Saving Private Ryan, except the zombies are FUCKING TUXEDOS. The whole show was on drugs, but that made it charming I think. Other shows I've watched were for entertainment, but this fucking show I watched for energized fun. Sure, it has its flaws, and the tumblr fanbase is god awful (though it gives great art), but I completely overlooked them when I was watching this ecstacy-fuelled trip of a show and only realised them in hindsight, because during the show I was having too much fun.
I got pretty excited just writing about this series.

Solid 9/10, would definitely watch again and again.
Then again, I'm just some Anonymous posting on a Vietnamese finger puppet imageboard, so what do I know.
