The directing was so amateurish it was painful. There was a point during the cataclysm scene that I didn't even know what I was looking at because it was just rock crumbling with no frame of reference to give the proper sense of scale. It didn't help that all the CG effects were pretty cheap.

Am I the only one who didn't like ToZ's cast interactions at all? I was going through the skits and majority of them are just long-winded terminology/lore lessons or shitty puns and jokes that that just don't quite translate well. There were a few gems though. I don't even really think they all had a genuine bond with each other by the end of the game. They were sort of just there to save the world with Sorey.

It's the third one. I only played Abyss and Legendia before and I also like both of them.
The combat in Zestiria is pretty good because of the sidestep. I played it on hard in the first round without griding, so almost every boss 3 shot me. It just so fun to learn the timeing to dodge every boss attack with sidestepping. It's like playing Dark Souls.
I don't really like the story at first, but the whole ending boss fight is the best thing ever. I simply just like the power of friendship thing. And skits are fun.

Probably Symphonia, though I never had a ps2 or even nintendo ds, so I didn't get an opportunity to play Abyss. ToX2 has a good story but it's so quirky and unconventional as well as poorly paced at times that it's hard to call it the best.

I'm so disappointed that they're continuing with the same universe and combat style as ToZ. It's possible that they won't mess it up, but ToZ being such a backward step from the Xillias is a bad sign.

I did get those scenes, they didn't seem to care at all. They didn't even care about Elle or Alt. Milla that much either, as they were generally uncaring when Elle left the party and after Milla died. I was kind of mad that after Alt. Milla died, immediately it went back to comedy as usual with the X1 cast. It's like as soon as X1 ended their story was over. I actually thought it was a good move to start with a dark beginning and I hope they keep this up through the series. The world we are presented in Zestiria the game is supposed to be one where the end of the world is not just happening, but has been happening for years. Alisha's description is practically the end times of Revelations. However, it's very poorly presented. Only Marlind and Pendrago really feel like they are on the brink of annihilation. The only destroyed cities are four or so six house wonders where an optional boss resides. None of them were destroyed by Hellion cataclysms as I recollect. I really want to see some destroyed cities, wastelands, and so forth that make it clear that humanity is being cornered.
