Goku hasn't won any fight on his own in dragonball since heat frieza. Even then, Frieza came back.

Lost against the androids, gave up against Cell, didn't finish the fight with fat buu, lost against kid buu, lost against bills, lost Golden Frieza, Lost against Frost, lost against Hit...

In fact his beat down of Trunks was his first win in ages.
