Yeah, everything I've heard and seen about Beseria has been purely positive. Looks pretty amazing for a prequel to one of the most disappointing Tales ever.

Love how the new producer wasn't afraid to take a risk, isn't this the first Tales with a FeMC? Heck, if there's a romance (and there looks like there will be a /ss/ relationship between Laphicet and Velvet if what they say and do in the trailers mean anything), it's a very uncommon dynamic.

Protagonist isn't a moralfag either, but, at the same time, I don't think she's an edgemaster. Think the same level of complexity as Yuri. Far better than the flattest character in the franchise yet, Sorey.

Looking forward to it, I'll probably even buy it.

the combat wasn't really the problem,

it was the super shitty AI on the NPC characters.

Especially on some of the tougher fights, they have two options, run away and stand still until the boss comes up and 1-shots them with a super long animation charge attack, or they suicide-dash in and get eaten alive.

Not to say that the combat wasn't shit, because it clearly was, but it wasn't THAT bad all things considered.

Xillia is a rushed piece of shit. Game "connection" areas is LITERALLY the same area recycled over and over for ALL the game. The sub-quests are poor, and the game felt very rushed, you can tell it to every corner. Costumes are also all DLC except some shitty recolor.

Xillia 2 has the most interesting plot in a Tales of since a long time, hate it, love it, it will leave an impression. Xillia 2 also recycles EVERYTHING from Xillia 1, enjoy going through these recolored canyons AGAIN.

The series also has Alvin, who is the most fuckable Tales of character to date.


Tales of Zestiria is just mediocre. It felt like the game designed didn't know how to the design a good game, you can tell this especially with the obnoxious skill system. Dungeons are also too big for their own good.
