As far as I can tell that's essentially like a go-between for producers and the rest of the general staff of a show so it's like he got promoted and will be able to make even more demands for the show while at the same time contributing less in the actual directing scenes department. In any case the first season came out before industry started making constant stupid production decisions so I can't wait to see how differently it plays out and especially the soundtrack which will no doubt be several times more vocalized now. I really don't know how the mainstream that aren't used to Sawano's new vocal track collaboration gimmick thing are going to react to that but I expect a split similar to Xenoblade Chronicles X where people either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it based on how normalfag they are as /a/ likes to put it.

I mean this industry legitimately thought Okada x Trigger would make a great combination last season and that it should keep getting visual novel writers to do one cour anime's scripts which has literally never worked into something coherent ever.
