The pacing and direction is all over the place, almost jarring, while the soundtrack is horrendous compared to the movies and the original series.

I would watch this show even with the terrible visuals if that was the only flaw it had. But sadly that isn't true.

Some scenes had the epic soundtrack from the movies and felt atmospheric and other scenes were way too fast, so trashy, with really bad metal music in the background.

The problem with this series that its not just the visuals that make it bad. It's everything.

When Guts was eating the rabbit, I thought it looked like it still had fur on it, but the scene flashed by so quickly I thought I must have been seeing things because no one could be stupid enough to think depicting Guts eating a rabbit with its fur on was a good idea. There basically isn't a single creative decision in this project that is good.

Looks like a notch above old episodes of ReBoot. Shittier cel-shading sketch effect than Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3, which came out 8 years ago.

I'm not an autist who has an aneurysm every time an anime diverges slightly from the source material. But in the manga, and in the original 1997 anime, Guts has a distinct reason for kicking the asses of those guys in the bar. In this he's just... a jerk? Or are we supposed to believe he gave a shit about saving Puck? He has none of the motivation or ambivalence he had in the manga. He's just a badass dude wandering the countryside killing poorly animated rabbits and beating up people so he doesn't have to wait in line?

I just watched the first episode of the anime.

The CGI really, really gets to me and ruins the experience. The best part was the interior of the cart, and that was because of the lack of CGI. I couldn't get immersed in the story and characters otherwise.

I don't think I'll stick with this anime adaptation, but I hope it gets better.
