That's not the way I've read it. Skull Knight has defined his struggle as being to protect or to get revenge. The hound is essentially his anger, hatred, and thirst for revenge against Griffith, and so giving into the hound is deciding to get revenge rather than protect Caska, and the rest of his comrades at that.

I think maybe you're thinking of how the armor makes him go berserk and lose sight of things, but that's just a temporary status. I definitely don't think Casca will just run to Guts' arms, there will be more to it than that. I wonder if she'll even remember the events of the past 2 or so years? Either way, she'll be incredibly embarrassed, ashamed and depressed.

Then she'll have to confront how she feels about what Griffith did to her and the Hawks. Does she still worship and love him or will she despise him, or perhaps be undecided on it? It'll be interesting the see. And then how will she feel about Guts?
