No Soma thread? We have a new episode coming soon, one of the best MCs is finally BACK
What were they doing again? Some kind of tournament? I think I already know who wins but oh well, my secondary ass is just waiting for more Alice.
>one of the best MCs
Is this ironic?
Wait fuck why is this pic in my hard drive?
Guess I'll just report myself.
Not fair, I didn't get to see it.
It was some random Regular Show picture that I must have saved from fucking years ago.
Thanks for the solid mods.
Also I really hope this season is split core, I want this scene animated so badly.
That would be extremely painful anon
It ended at the end of the first round of that tournament thing where they all made curry. At least, I'm decently sure that's where it ended. It's been a while so the manga and anime are mixed up in my head.
Anyway, we get more of Alice's sidekick, so we'll get to see flashbacks of her when they do his backstory.
>only 13 episodes
They literally showed stagiaire in the PV just to fucking tease us.
I don't think we will ever see it animated.
uchidamaaya gave me bitch impression ( with sakura) on ganganga.
but then she came and turned into sempai admirer
>what kind of sorcery is this
also qt taneda/takamina and kayano tenshii
Unfortunately, we're right about to enter the peak of the series and then it's mostly downhill from there. This is also about the point where people start to really dislike Souma.
I agree that the recent chapters have been better actually, and I like Azami, but after his introduction we had this huge stretch of mostly exposition and pointless matches where threads slowed down like crazy and everyone was complaining. The latest chapter is my favorite since the tournament.
I like reading this but two things come to mind
1) I have a really shitty palate. Or at least one that I feel isn't quite experienced enough. So I end up feeling like I have to take the manga's word that "This is Good" when I don't know enough about individual flavors.
2) The Premise feels really simple and rather plain. Despite that I feel like the author makes it work.
>that feel when you don't ship characters you just love Megumi
>tfw we went from fura fura to ear.rape
That's the danger I think a lot of the characters' specialties fall into. Just specializing in meat isn't quite as varied as specializing in food to suit the eater, or state of the art cooking techniques, or low quality ingredients.
>get motivated by the first season to cook something fancy for once
They make it look so easy.
This character has had this dreading looming feeling and I have no idea if he's going to actually do anything or if it's just going to be one big joke
I'm about to find out.
I hope if nothing else, they animate my OTP. I don't care if she doesn't win, the arc with her and Soma is just too cute.
How you praised your queen and goddess Erina today?
Anime sucks. Who would have thought?
She gets some meaningful development and focus in a arc where she's also together with Souma. Preview shows that they might reach it in the anime.
It's a manga about delinquents and criminals being rehabilitated through cooking.
It's just that she's too pure and perfect for this world.
Ruined for marriage.
I thought Souma was the flattest, dullest and most boring character of the show. Everyone else had a thing going for them. Souma was just skillboy. No identity. No he's just best because.
well he's built up in the beginning by the locals in his hometown because he's been working at his pop's restaurant for years, but when he gets to the school, pretty much everyone has been cooking their whole lives as well. That's why his dad wanted him to go to that school, so he would improve and not act like he's #2, #1 being his dad.
This is an anime only person's perspective on the matter though so disregard.
>implying next arc wouldn't be all about romancing Erina
Soma and the gang get far thanks to Erina's studies, and Azami gets pissed and expels Erina instead. Are you ready?
What does he need her for again? Just for the reputation of the God Tongue/Nakiri bloodline and taste testing? If it's just judgment, then he could use Hayama since taste and smell are interconnected. It's not out of the equation especially with his methods.
It'd be interesting if she became exiled just like Azami did and also ends up like Joichirou with traveling the world and following his philosophy of cooking.
What would your reaction be to the police showing up in the middle the final battle against Azami and arresting him? They just explain that child abuse is against the law and chastise the cast for not having reported him sooner.
He took control of an academy because 6 of the 10 Elite Council who run the school voted for him. There's nothing that's going to allow Azami to overcome the fact that there is always going to be a high demand for cheap, fast, low-quality food.
>Watch SnS and all these exuisite dishes
>Go to a fancy restaurant for once
>Order the chef's speciality
>Some kind of a chicken with almost nonexistent amount of side dish
>The sauce is spicy and sweet at the same time, disgusting
>Chicken has zero flavor like they forgot to add salt
>Drink the whole cistern while eating so I can finish without puking
I'll stick with my own homemade "pleb" goulash.
We don't know exactly. We just know that she's "the key" to his plan, so he can't lose her. Of course, he thinks that no matter what she'll cave no matter how much she rebels atm. This will ultimately be his undoing of course.
Subs when roughly? Just less than 3 hours time or something, right?
If you are talking about the new season, no, it's not the downhill and people started to dislike Souma when the Azamicalypse happened.
If you are talking about the recent chapters, fuck you, they have been great and people are starting to like Souma again.
>best ending of the year
If by that you mean she's an annoying cardboard "MC's main squeeze" character, then yes.
If by that you aim to deflect the question by saying "Cuz muh Waifu is le perfect!11!", then go fuck yourself.
and for the record, Yuki Yoshino is awesome because she's everything Megumi is not. Lighthearted, fun, and has no problem with getting naked.
That's the kind of girl any MC should go for, not this sort of puritan garbage like Megumi.
Cardboard? Megumi's had the most complete character arc of anyone in the manga. And she's not "MC's main squeeze," she's Souma's closest and most dependable friend. Souma is destined for Erina.
His plans is all about top tier Elite food being mass produced by students, and all dishes approved by him and Central E10.
But without induviduality and creativity, you can't create new dishes and at some point it will stagnate.
There's where the God Tongue's enters in the plan.
>Episode 1-4 Quarterfinals
>Episode 5-6 Souma vs Giganigga (prep + match)
>Episode 7 Kurokiba vs Hayama
>Episode 8-10 Finals (prep, match, end of tournament)
>Episode 11-13 Stagiare
Hayama vs Hishoko is very short, so they can do it in 5 minutes so they can start Aldini match in episode 3 and leave episode 4 for the end of it and prep of Souma vs Giganigga maych.
>This is an anime only person's perspective on the matter though so disregard.
Anon stop necro'ing a post you didn't even read properly.
Damm I was expecting an episode to ease back into things, but they went straight into the tournament.
I imagine there's going to be an episode on each match, with 2-3 for the final, and maybe an extra to introduce gigganigga and his whole shtick, which leaves about 3 where they could fit the Stagliare arc.
There's at least one beach episode.
>Alice is going to lose just because she's against plot armor
I don't know, but i prefer Yuki's chest size.
>no Gigga with them.
Ah, come on.
The mobage or the 3DS one?
The games have always been around, they just update it.
It's Japan only but you can get it with QooApp or some other program though.
A 1st year falls in love with his senpai's cooking.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the senpai's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls it, and is overjoyed to find out that he admires his cooking as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to his senpai, he only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the 3rd year he called is not the same ladykiller he fell in love with. In fact, he doesn't exist in this universe at all. He is the senpai's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of his crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private recettes in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of COOKING.
Man, that went by too fast. And not in a good way.
I hope the rest of the episodes at least build a little suspense or something because I couldn't enjoy this episode at all.
I don't like the rush but I can't help to get excited anyway.
>Responds to image showing Yuki has small boobs
>complains about everyone being a titty monster in the anime
They skip this. Really no care for the side characters, huh.
Yep, Giganigga is the best thing in whole tournament. Other matches were kinda meh. For example I don't remember anything about Curry nigger vs Mad Dog match other than it was a draw.
I want to become a world class chef so Alice will praise me~
They condensed 6 episodes into 1 episode and completely skipped the preparation between the preliminaries and the main tournament. The suspense that was in the manga was non-existent in this episode.
Just finished watching. There are some things that was cut. I'll check the manga chapters to confirm them.
Man, this is the only show where all the girls are fucking shit, if it wasn't for Megumi I would have dropped it already.
Can't they just insult Asami by saying "They can't make us fail fairly so they end up with those dirty tricks. Well, can't expect more from Central."
Also, the faces in the new chapter are reminding me of Koizumi.
You mean all the girls are fucking great except Megumi.
Seems like they excluded those chapters where Isshiki invited Souma and Megumi to teach some kids to cook. Compared to S1 the pace feels twice as fast as major matches expecially for Souma would take up at least 2 episodes. I'm just slightly disappointed but I guess it can't entirely be helped since JC Staff only has 13 episodes to work on.
Not that it matters to me, but I feel like having two shots of these three together in the OP makes things a bit too obvious.
I feel that was too quick. The characters are speaking line after line. There's little time between them and reactions for everything to have a good impact. Also they cut this.
>Not being a native spanish speaker
Damn, 5 minutes in and it feels like they've already adapted 2 manga chapters.
Season 1 pacing was kinda slow but still manageable, this one is a damn clusterfuck.
It feels like they're just pasting the manga dialogues as fast as possible without leaving time for any sort of tension to form.
I suddenly remember Shinomiya's monologue in where he talks about Japanese soldiers feeding European/American PoWs roots and shit and the PoWs going crazy about the Japanese's barbarism in feeding them inedible plants.
I've just picked this up since there isn't much to watch this season.
I get from the constant threads on /a/ it's at least somewhat good enough.
>not liking Megumi
Guys, please get some taste.
I tried to enjoy the show.
I did. It's called Yuki Yoshino. She's everything your 24/7 panic attack waifu should be.
Check out how Yuki always has her tongue out when she's exited about something. Tell me with a straight face that doesn't give you a chub.
I hate shows about cooking, I always end up trying to cook something and fail miserably.
So I cheer myself with more food, and end up gaining weight.
Maybe you should stop doing that.
>why does everyone hate Souma?
Only a small minority hate Souma and see him as a Garu Stu ehen he isn't.
>Or what happened?
Ketchup. You'll understand when you read far enough in the manga.
I tried anon, but it's cycle that I can't get out.
Especially when shows portrait food in this way, which would send my chuuni mind into frenzy.
Is japanese food that good in the first place?
>Is japanese food that good in the first place?
I may be biased, but it's very good. A crying shame that baka gaijin only know sushi, teriyaki, ramen and tempura.
Also, would anyone mind if I dumped an Étoile chapter here later? Assuming the thread is alive by the time QC changes are made.
You idiots keep playing the ketchup card as Souma being a Gary Stu when that was the only time that was closest thing of he ever came up with an asspull despite it was explained why he used it.
Damn, i loved and enjoyed season 1 a lot, and i actually had high expectations for this one because tournament arc should have been better with a bit more speed and animation.
Boy was i wrong. It's complete shit.
Why are you idiots complaining about skipping?
This is the introduction episode - you need the main character fighting. That's fucking basic TV.
It's an adaptation not a 100% accurate re-enactment.
>A crying shame that baka gaijin only know sushi, teriyaki, ramen and tempura
>"I love sushi"
>"I don't like raw fish"
>"That's not rolled like sushi"
Every fucking time; it infuriates me. Same with fucking Korean, Thai, and Viet fads in the last few years. Those only 4 things that goddamn white can name didn't just come from nowhere.
>This is the introduction episode - you need the main character fighting
Did you feel anything while he has fighting?
Did they use the material properly to bring the hype up?
Did they bring up the advantages of animated adaptation of a bunch of motionless drawings?
The complaints are not about muh manga, you idiot. It's because the adaptation itself is very lacking compared to S1
>>Son of cooking god
Except that his dad isn't one. Jouichirou is extremely skilled but he isn't god-tier like retards like you do.
>Almost alway win
Right. Lost nearly 500 times to his dad, against Hayama in both AE prelims and finals, and Kuga. Quite a record.
>When he lost he doesn't really lost
Stay deluded. Souma legitimately lost the AE finals.
>Everyone that hate him at first end up worshiping him
They don't worship him asshat. He's very easy to get along with and doesn't take things too personally.
>If not,they are fucking jerks
No just you faggot.
He is. He purposely gets himself into dumb situations and there are never any consequence for his actions. It's shit like this that irritate people: "if i lose to you i will join central, ah i lost. oh I don't have to join? ok."
Again, tension and suspense are built with time. There was very little this episode. And the flashback shows Souma's preperation work and gives more screen time to a secondary character who has little.
I would watch a show with just these characters.
If they accurately turned Jurassic Park into a movie from the book, the film would be like 6 hours long, and filled with 5 hours of people talking about genetic science, which Spielberg wisely compacted into two or three scenes in the movie.
L'Etoile Chapter 7, Volume 2
>Jouichirou is extremely skilled but he isn't god-tier like retards like you do
Everything says th contrary, everyone worship jou even Azami.
>Lost nearly 500 times to his dad
Off-screen,also his dad is cooking god,so...
>against Hayama in both AE prelims and finals
>Stay deluded. Souma legitimately lost the AE finals.
Also,he loses but not without winning a fanclub first.
>No just you faggot.
How? every side character that hate Souma is portrayed as a jelly loser.
I love Souma but that anon is right.
Sure Souma lost a lot of matches, but the problem is that of all of those, the only one that felt like it had any repercussion is the AE final.
Pauline a cute.
