I think it's clear that by now he isn't immortal, and judging from the Hitagi Crab arc, it's still possible for him to lose/gain weight, his bodies just generally fitter than normal.

It's a pretty harsh step down from having super strength, shape-shifting abilities and having any wound heal instantaneously.
