Eh, Biba wanted Ikoma to finish him off, that's why he shot him up with the antidote.
At the point when Imoka blew off his arm, the lingering realization sunk in, that Biba suffered from the same paranoid schizophrenia as his father. The thing he labeled "cowardice".
So he could keep slaughtering people, but he'd never feel any better about himself. So yeah, he saw something in Ikoma he would never be, but he never stopped being a selfish piece of shit.

I dunno, I guess I expected to see epic fight with the black smoke creature, so the whole last episode felt a bit weak. But that's my fault.

I would give the series a 7/10. It has pretty good animation and unusual visual style/setting, but the story is kinda crap. The fist part was alright, since it was so ridiculous I could enjoy it for that. Then Biba appeared and the show went full edge, taking any fun out of the series.

5/10 I enjoyed the final episode but only because the biba arc was finally over. I actually hope this gets a second season. There is still a lot of potential particularly for the side cast. Ayame has turned into quite the strong but she really doesn't get much screen time to show it off. If this was condensed into a one or two movies and was the start of the series it would be quite good.

Biba's whole deal is that the strong and fearless will always outlast/defeat the weak and fearful. Biba realises that Ikoma is basically fearless and totally selfless, so essentially what Biba percieves as the human ideal. During their fight Biba actually admits that he has cowardice in him (I can't remember the exact line, something like "so now you see a coward"), and so when he actually beats Ikoma he can't accept that because it's essentially a fearful man beating someone who is fearless, which would derail his entire life philosophy. When he's walking at Ikoma he's all mad because his entire worldview is being challenged, so he's desperate to revive Ikoma so he can continue fighting and beat him. He gives him the white blood in a frantic attempt to get Ikoma up and fighting again because he can't possibly accept that he'd lost.

He sees his dad, the whole shogunate, and most humanity as subhuman because they're selfish cowards. Here's how this shit should have went down without introducing Biba and friends:

Have them drive around killing kabane while Ikoma became less and less human. Once Ikoma became a kabane god and kidnapped Ayame(because Ikoma liked the smell of her blood), Mumei would then save him in the end because of love, while Kurissu would try to kill her for douchebag purposes. Once Ikoma returned to his senses, due to his newfound ability,he could have given Ayame a secret serum to destroy and prevent people from turning into kabane. Then the two of them could have left the Koutestujou and lived together peacefully.

Which would lend itself to the idea that he suffered from the same mental illness that his hated father had.
But even leaving that aside, Biba fails his own test. He's not fit to survive in the environment he's creating.

Thus he tries to commit suicide by Ikoma. But then Ikoma faints and he tries to revive him with the white stuff so he can finish him off.
But Hozumi cockblocks him there too.

This show had the best OC art out of all the Season.

Regardless if it was good, bad or if people liked it or not, it gave us more than everything else that aired this spring combined.

I personally enjoyed it. If you're wondering about Biba's motivations or some loose ends I suggest you to rewatch the show again and you will come to the conclusion that most things are simple and in plain sight.
