You could also have a half way decent chance of arguing that Berserk does not have gratuitous sex, actually. It serves a purpose and doesn't just pop up every other chapter or every chapter because miura can.

If it was a straight porn with violence it would be like that, but it's not. It's an action series that happens to have sex scenes and rape where it would make sense for this to occur.

Although, from what one can infer about Midland, there is a pretty high level of rape going on. I think waking up Casca from her stupor is incredibly cruel and selfish. She can, after a sort, live as she is - finding simplistic and infant like joy in various things.

Not only will she have to deal with all the shit that went down, as has been often discussed, but I've rarely seen anyone mention that she will be also living as a condemned soul - she and Guts are literally hellbound (or as close as you get in Berserk). Imagine, on top of all the trauma, being forced to live knowing you fated for sacrifice to dark entities, and having first hand with those entities prior. SK isn't really deus ex since we know that Guts survives the Eclipse. SK is outside the laws of causality so he can change the predetermined and he knows about the God Hand and there machinations. It's not far-fetched for him to interrupt the ceremony and save Guts. It makes sense for his character and within the story.

He meant the English version of the word from the beginning. It's also not silk with an accent, it's an actual German word/name, it's just that it's spelled/pronounced weird in Japanese so we get awkward translations. From what I remember they just tried to see if katanas can cut other swords, like some weebs claim, and strapped various swords in that contraption and hit it with both a western sword and a katana. The katana didnt cut shit, as expected, and even bend as seen in that gif while the sturdier western one managed to chip or even break the other swords.

Of course the basic premise behind it, that a whimsical sword made for slicing unarmoured peasants could cut steel clean in half, was retarded, but the actual test seemed pretty solid.

As for Zodd, we don't know how old he is, but it's been said that he's been fighting upon different battlefields (I seem to remember it was said only as an apostle) for 300 years. Assuming he was just a human before, he's just a bit older than that.

A part of me really sees the story going through the obvious timeskip they are setting up in Fairyland, only for the world to become shittier as the Godhand set up their domains and Falconia/Griffith goes to war against them.
Then Guts has to rip and tear his way through one of the Godhand domains to reach Griffith, only to find he has no choice but to help him stop the other Godhands.

Incidentally, his followers did not view him as their friend either. Remember the whole Bonfire of Dreams talk? People joined him because he was accomplishing shit they were too weak or weak-willed to do themselves. Simplistic good guy/bad guy logic doesn't really work in Berserk.
