I want to rail Riko.
Then brutally derail her.
Gentlemen, how do we stop manji before he goes too far like mont blanc? He's been inching his way there for some time, since not too long after mont blanc did.
Who is this?
What are you saying, anon?
its nothing and you shouldn't, now go away
Supposedly it was because while they tried to iron out terms for licensing the entire franchise, Smile was at the time the newest series.
The rest of their episodes are coming according to the dude who voices Oni and Wolfrun, just don't know when
The 20 minute rape scene mimicking I Spit On Your Grave was too much for me. What were they thinking? This is a kids show.
Why are these guys so awful?
Expect me to jump through hoops to take a pic with subs using mpc?
Good morning Anon
The rape at this part was so brutal. Especially when the manlet finished them off.
I like hand-holding the most
Continuing the talk from the previous thread, eh? Either way, you are right.
They are all bad
Wouldn't be the first time. That bit where Honoka gave birth to bugs really made me hurl. Man that was nasty.
Some were cool, but a lot of them were really dumb like that hoover zakenna.
They are all bad, stop supporting them
MiraRiko is a miracle of the Precureverse
Then tell me what is so bad about them, party pooper?
Because I said so
How much for night with her?
I want to make boys jealous when I date Megumi
Are you sure you won't get jealous?
I would be very jealous
if she existedbut we all know she'd turn you down.
Smile ended 4 years ago
I can do it
If you had Lurch and a manlet as your dark partners, wouldn't you be pissed all the time?
I can't believe this is a muti-part series. It's hilarious.
I was looking at some new anime to pick up and Fresh caught my eye. I looked into Fresh's cast on ANN and found out that there were a lot of Precure series out there, I picked up Suite shortly after then everything else
Ha ha. I meant pic related. He's probably what half the people in these threads look like and want to be.
There's an entire series called milk hunters of this guy running around fucking all the cures. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
I remember when that was the big thing, now everybody like the old man
What does he do to a fellow otaku?
I have been out for a few weeks.
How have you anons been?
Do people finally like Maho a bit?
Is Ha-chan still cute or did she become big girl?
I see the "x days for Maho to end" anon has stopped at least.
Things are okay, nobody's gone mysteriously missing that we've noticed yet.
No, people still hate maho, but it's still cute in bits. Haa is a big girl now but it was just an intro, she premieres properly this week.
And the x days whine still happens, just not every day.
As you can see, there are still faggots who can't appreciate traditional shoujo elements. Hayami-chan's still the best part of the show.
Maho seems lack luster, people are still talking about GoPri. Maybe GoPri should have had a 2nd season
That's a shame.
At least she doesn't look as bad as I thought, the leaks made her look older. She looks younger than Miracle and Magical there.
What a shame, I have been enjoying Maho since the beginning despite them growing old. It is cute and the magic world is a nice touch. And not every season has Jouji Nakata and Hocchan fighting each other.
God no thank you, it was at least a complete story, better that we have a year of fallow than shit all over that.
Pic related was the actual shot from the show.
If a series could have another season, which one would it be?
Max Heart, of course.
Or for serious, probably Smile. The cures aren't fundamentally bad, just underexplored and an extra season would let them skip the formalities and build off the little they did in the first season. Because the ending was
so awfuland not the least bit final, it's also not a big deal to restart it.
Why would they do that?
They had pretty good seiyuus already for them.
But thinking about it, if they were purified, it means they are now good guys. Could be interesting for all of them to fight along the cures at some moment.
Doki should be the only precure series and the other precure should be guest stars
What's in the bag?
>it means they are now good guy
Wrong kind of purification, bud. Genjii and Spiderwoman reverted back to ordinary animals. Batty was
purified by being reduced to subatomic particles.God knows what'll happen to Gecko though.
At least they killed generals again, even if it was the worst timing to kill generals ever.
Damn, it's hard to find the positive side to this. I just hope new villains have more personality.
Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I don't really frequent these threads.
Did ImaginationStation drop Mahou Tsukai? Their blog hasn't been updated since they released 17 & 18 and I haven't found any other subs for 19+.
Is anyone else doing it?
Wouldn't surprise me.
You see, apparently trusting a subgroup with no interest in precure to sub a year-long precure season was a bad, bad idea.
Same reason why no one trusts commie to sub precure.
Almost all of them fall behind and flounder after a couple week. Doremi is the only subbing group that could keep up with Precure after 5+ years.
I'm glad I got gud.
>Implying that Naisho is not worse than any Precure subs this side of TV-Nihon
Also Precure hasn't been correctly subbed since subbers started to create made-up Americanized retardation names for shit.
just let it burn
You're a persistent son of a bitch aren't you
Prepare yourself! This lovely cat aims to befriend everyone using the power of space! UCHUUU KITAAAAAAAA!
I miss Fourze
>Maybe GoPri should have had a 2nd season
2nd seasons are always terrible in PreCure. Haven't you learned this yet? We are far better with something new which might be crap, over something which will certainly be crap along with dragging your favorite season through the mud.
>If a series could have another season, which one would it be?
Probably Smile, if only because the show was dumb enough that another season wouldn't ruin it. Also, the premise of the show was simple and silly enough that a second season would probably be more of the same, rather than turning out completely awful.
Other than that, a sequel to Yes 5 GoGo would be interesting, just to see how bad a poor sequel to a poor sequel might turn out.
She's cute. Good job, anon.
>never includes Cure Flower or Cure Ange
I mean, I can sort of understand the logic behind not including Kaoru/Michiru as "not official Cures", there are a number of others running around throughout the series who tend to just be forgotten or ignored.
Even the supporting cast isn't spared by senpai.
Noticed that, too. Sucks. They look pretty good. That guy even got Splash Star, Yes 5 and Heartcatch. He can't keep getting away with it.
The series never got that far, I think.
>that outfit and it's amazing potential
>that 15 second QUALITY scene we got instead
So is maho not loved? Just judging from this thread.
I had to dip out during early GoPri and haven't been back on the internet at all since around ep 11 of that, until a fortnight ago.
Just watched the first 16 episodes of maho and I'm really loving it. Mirai is truely the miracle of the precureverse.
Have to find time to finish GoPri too 'cause I really loved the start of that too.
Really? It was like, the whole episode, every shot. I think the AD was drunk. Or it was that one guy who everyone always makes fun of for being bad probably.
No I remember episode 10. Just not megu's idol outfit in the same episode.
Reality was a little tame by comparison.
It's better than Powerpuff Girls Z
Miracle is beautiful.
Hellgirl-Mahou collab when?
It's not Splash Star
PPGZ is still better than Splash Star though.
>The All-Stars movie box office this year is down from 10億円
>Ratings are declining but the cause simply cannot be said definitively.
>The goal is a revival of Precure on TV, with the hope of continuing the franchise for 15, maybe even 20 years, continuing to eye 4-6 year olds as the key demographic.
I thought it was interesting that they mentioned how long-lived a series it was compared to their previous (girls') franchises, and how they were seeing how some of their staff got into the business because they were such big fans.
And question for those that might know: Was the series they're talking about having to compete with in their timeslot the upcoming Monster Hunter anime? And is that really a concern if they're still aiming for 4-6yo girls?
Even with the awful villains in the 2nd half and mostly disappointing villains in the 1st? I mean, I like the characters and the episodes are entertaining, but things could have been better. For example, the lack of a good supporting cast.
At the time it was huge, and it's important to realize that without its massive success, we wouldn't have had twelve years of Precure, or maybe even not nearly as much (fighting) Mahou Shoujo in general. At the time, it was THE show to watch (for kids) and the way it did battle grit and the partnership/friendship between Nagisa and Honoka were massive selling points.
Almost everything that was done in FW has been redone many, many more times since then (both within and outside of Precure), since that's the kind of imitation that comes with success, and whether others have done it better or not is largely a matter of opinion. I'm not sure it was a timeless work of art, but it wasn't just innovative, it was pretty well executed as well.
tl;dr: 12 years ago, fuck yeah, best thing ever. Nowadays, it's still pretty good.
They could JUST make a Precure Amazons for the Amazon Prime service and win money from the old fans.
Kamen Rider Amazons was a big success with sequel confirmed for the next year.
Precure 1-draw #801
Kenzaki Makoto / Cure Sword
I don't know what's more painful, the fact that Futari Wa was licensed by 4kids at one point after they couldn't finish Tokyo Mew Mew or the fact that Glitter Force wasn't even a cash-grab. It was just there
Precure 1-draw #802
Fresh Precure E23 "Eas's Final Moment!
Cure Passion is Born!!"
>you just don't like it
You can like something and still acknowledge its negative aspects, you know?
Porun is a fuck-nugget. Absolutely terrible. And while I do like Nagisa, she goes on and off between having some form of meaningful character flaws to them just being decoration.
Never watched Max Heart. Is it as bad as people say it is?
>MH is great
Want to do some explaining to counter this negativity?
>Honoka fades into the background
Is there any reason why they did this? I like both characters but I don't want more of one if it ignores the other.
Don't remember what it was, but I remember people saying it was terrible. Is it?
>Is there any reason why they did this?
If you've seen FW, you'll probably have already noticed. Despite the fact that it's supposed to be both of them, Nagisa takes the front and becomes the important one very quickly. Her stories matter most, her feelings are explored most, and there was never anything even close to approaching a role reversal of FW42, sadly.
She's basically the third cure in MH, or about as much attention as the last cure in any other series.
>continuing to eye 4-6 year olds as the key demographic
Reflect a bit on that the next time you're writing that long, detailed essay about the lack of deep and intricate plots in Precure and how they don't appeal to your intellect.
That's not an excuse to ignore Honoka.
I just wish they're be actual development with their characters. Like Nagisa moving past Fuji and realizing that it wasn't actual love but superficial. But, we all know they'd never write something like that.
Say that to my face, faggot.
Stop making fun of MakoPi! She's taking it seriously!
You're completely missing the point of the show.
It was all about Nagisa dealing with her normal teenage problems and having to juggle them with her new super hero problems.
The thing is that there must be a sempai she's in love with, and it's gotta be the real deal, because that's a typical teenage problem.
This is also why we see everything from Nagisa's perspective and not Honoka's, and why Nagisa is the main character and not the two of them despite the name of the show; Honoka is NOT a normal girl.
>they'd never write something like that
That's not really fair, pretty much all of the cures change over the course of their series, it's kind of hard not to when you save the world. Obviously some get much more dramatic redemption story arcs to go with their development, and not just the former villains, but also the ones who are bouncing back from horrible mistakes/tragedy.
Whether FujiP is a loose end that should've been tied is debatable anyhow, because, surprisingly enough, Precure isn't always the kind of coming of age story that demands that sort of closure. He may be more like a part of Nagisa's profile that reminds you of the kind of person that she is, a little like a hobby doesn't have to be elevated to the next level over the course of the show to remind you that the character is moving forwards. There are definitely changes on the same order of significance as that for some people, though.
My main problem with him is that he's insanely bland as a character and she likes him regardless because pretty yaoi boy good at sports. I know this is aimed at kids, but I expect the writing to be better than that. I need actual reasons and development.
>I need actual reasons and development.
Goddamnit /pc/, will you quit this already
A lot of fans don't share the same kind of experience and scope as the people who made it in the first place. It's great when they used aspects of things they love to inspire their own work, but when they are just repeating a formula they like "because that's how the franchise is" it quickly loses all its luster. 0079 was a big deal because it was a novel mashup of Yamato-inspired scifi and super robot shows, but a show like IBO got lukewarm receptions because it was just going through the motions of a Gundam season. It's not entirely at fault of the fans, it just happens to long-running franchises where the original creators have become distant, but at that point it becomes more beneficial to have someone bring his own ideas and style (such as Yonetani on the Braves series) than someone in love with what it's already doing.
Originally Precure drew from a lot of sources. Toku shows, sentai-styled magical girl shows, and the classical magical girl setting (which is a lot more SoL oriented. That part is important because it disappeared as Precure went on). Now it's pretty obvious it is only doing things that are "Precure" enough for the franchise. Any innovation is done within the basic framework and is very shallow, like HaCha. End result is a product like Maho.
But then you have something like GoPri in the middle of HaCha and Maho, which without being incredibly innovating and very Precure-like, executed the formula almost perfectly and was generally liked.
I don't think generalizing like that is any good, people can good job as long as they understand their limitations and at the same time try to do the best they can, be it them fans or anyone else.
Shallow being the keyword. And bad writing.
Can it. The kids need to learn something, too. Because the average boy isn't the best football/sports player nor is the average girl. It would be different if Nagisa had to work her way up to that level of play, but she's just like that at the start.
If she wasn't, then girls would learn that with effort even they can become great. Instead we don't get that. She just "has" it. I just wish small things like that were present.
It probably depends on whether you think the problem is fundamentally really in the fandom, or (more likely) because this is a franchise (and market in general) in which the pool of ideas only innovates when absolutely necessary, then narrows again as older successful ideas are imitated because they're the best (and safest) investment.
Or wacky noises.
But seriously, comparing Yuuko to Hime or Erika is fucking crazy talk.
Take a look at this episode, number 35. The guy was pretty forward and such, but he showed actual interest in Nagisa and admired her for actual believable reasons. Unlike that other guy.
However, he's not right for her because he's wasn't a "perfect" knight in shining armour like Fuji. But the thing is that nobody is "perfect" and in life you have to compromise. And having the episode like that isn't teaching anyone anything.
I thought GoPri suffered from the same problems actually. If it didn't excel in the technical side (Animation, character designs, music, etc) I don't think it would have gotten anywhere near the same reception.
Time to work on that backlog
It was the story that hooked me on GoPri, likable villains, consistent themes, likable main character, great direction and good chemistry within the cast. You could see they had a direction in mind since the beginning and were modifying it accordingly.
I wouldn't remember this scene so much if it wasn't for the story itself and not just for the animation.
And to think the original plan was to kill off Close, until they realized they had a goldmine on their hands.
Jokes on you, I thought they were terrible at first. I only came to like Haruka after a while.
I still don't think the designs are something that good even now after getting to like the characters.
I don't think so. I think GoPri stands on its own pretty well even without the great animation and music. Coming after HaCha might have helped it a lot though, as many of the problems with HaCha were areas that GoPri excelled in. HaCha's plot and themes were all over the place while GoPri is one of the most consistent seasons with its themes. Megumi was a character whose dreams and ideals were never really called into question while Haruka was a character whose ideals were challenged throughout the season multiple times and she really felt like she grew when she overcame them. Also giving Towa/Kanata an actual touching scene after being reunited with their parents was actually satisfying compared to that spit in the face HaCha gave to Hime and her parents.
But Hacha was more fun, and /pc/ was more fun when it aired.
But what also was wrong with that episode is that the guy was a very good basketball player (or whatever it was) and not just some guy. Anime always does this.
You see, all that's doing is making girls aim for the best and everyone else is not worth considering even though we all have our pros and cons, and nobody is perfect. No prince on a horse is coming to sweep you away and they need to teach people that. Meh. Rant over.
You should be. Cures are only for kisses, cuddles and long walks on the beach.
Comedy spinoff when?
Just posting best Zakenna design.
