I'm way too satisfied to complain, but if I try to look at it objectively, you guys have a point. I think the show never recovered from the blow it took early on when a producer forced a change of plan.

As I recall, they wanted to have real naval battles and he was like "lol no". I get the feeling they didn't have the time or the chance to scrap what they had and start from the ground up under the new conditions, so they just salvaged what they could of the story and came up with whatever to fill the gaps.

I still loved every bit of it, but I must agree that it could have been better in many aspects.
