I wish this arc didn't copy things from whatever happened in Heroes. We could have an interesting arc:

GT is more boring than Super. It is consistently more on model and has consistently less QUALITY (not by much, but it does), but it's also consistently more of a chore to watch. You don't get some hilariously bad moments like Episode 5 of Super, you get boringly bad episodes like Super 17. You don't get hype as fuck battles like Goku vs. Beerus or Goku vs. Hit, you get kinda okay battles against Baby or Omega Shenron. But most importantly, you don't get ANY good filler or comedy in GT, you get bland and dull rehash episodes of Dragon Ball. GT never hits as low as Super.

It also never hits anywhere as close to as high as Super.

Toriyama also said that Beerus would be involved in this arc. Considering how it has a serious tone and stakes, if he's getting involved, he can't really be stronger than the villain. Maybe they'll beat him at the end with a group effort, like a super universal Genki Dama or a fusion, rather than Goku just becoming plain stronger.

That's just Vegeta being an idiot though. In the manga, Goku still drops from the Hit fight due to stamina problems and Hit not using his true power due to not being allowed to kill. Vegeta at best would have done as well as Goku.
