Well, Bleach is still going on and the anime ended recently, maybe because of this you don't get the impresion Bleach is "old" but it debuted in 2001, for anime standards 15 years is a lot.

Don't know your country but in Brazil we had a high influx of anime in the 90s and early 2000, Rurouni Kenshin was mainstream along with Pokemon, DBZ, Saint Seiya, Yu-gi-oh and Digimon, Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon. Amonng the less know are Medabots, Shaman King, Shinzo, Monster Rancher and others that only kids that were realy into anime watched

Intro arc is comfy adventures

SS is a top notch, albeit streamlined, battle shonen arc.

Arrancar arc is meh. The whole taming the Hollow and fighting despair theme was wearisome and Ishida/Chad/Orihime got sidelined for the Shinigami. Still has enjoyable moments.

Hueco Mundo tries too hard to ride the SS vibe with none of the charm but the Espada/Aizen made better villains than the Shinigami. The guessing game of who was top Espada was fun and some of the fights were good. But there was a lot of fatigue involved with watching fight after fight after fight with no real end in sight and seemingly building towards nothing.

FKT was a fucking ride. With ridiculous lows comparable to the Bount filler and insanely fun highs, usually whenever Aizen decided to do shit.

Fullbring arc was 10/10 Kubo-ing. Weekly it's dull as fuck but reading/watching all in one go is a roller coaster of entertainment.

Holy War arc, can't really comment on until it's over. Has a lot of fun moments and a lot of bullshit. Entertaining in the sense that you'll never know what Kubo will pull out of his ass week to week.

The second to last opening still makes my stomach turn. It implies that Rukia got beheaded off-screen. Its by far the strongest (by how awful it feels) implication of a main cast character dying in both anime and manga, and it stands out a LOT. Why would they even put it there, why?

as far as I know Ichigo is replacement reaper under Rukia's supervision, Rukia gets kidnapped and Ichigo goes to save her and becomes stronger than a lot of Soul Society people, Aizen or something ends up being #1 bad guy

I see a lot of people comparing Ichigo and Rukia to Naruto and Sakura. But in my honest opinion, I don't find them to be like that at all. Ichigo and Rukia are like Ash and Pikachu, it's very difficult to picture one without the other.

Really didn't though. It was supremely Ichigo-centric and trying to be "mysterious".

It was good because of how it jerked people around though. Just when you think you've hit the middle of the arc you get fucking slammed with the climax out of nowhere followed by multiple full Kubo twists that turn the arc on its head and a pretty emotional final series of fights. I think people hated it because they were so used to the powerlevel bullshit by that point that they couldn't get behind an "Ichigo training from scratch" arc. Also didn't help that the antagonists had to compete with Aizen who's one of the most charismatic and memorable villains to date.

Dressrosa is a 100 chapter arc. That's pretty lengthy but there are many parts of it that could be covered without taking much time.

Yet the anime version is 118 (One hundred and eighteen) episodes long. Just try and comprehend that. It's a single arc and it's longer than most anime series.

You can shit all you want on bleach and yes it does have its flaws, but damn they really did a good job with the openings.

From memory, i really only liked bleach because i was expecting romance between ichigo and rukia. The soul society arc was abit tedious and i only enjoyed the short rukia rumination scenes and ichigo vs byakuya.

I lost much of the interest when it became clear ichigo and rukia wasn't going to be a romantic pairing. Bleach was my second anime at the time so I didn't realise japanese anime had shitting romance development .

The biggest fuck up was rukia said she wanted to stay in soul society and the whole atmosphere felt more like friends than what it was hinting between ep.1-15

This is also correct. All other villains after Aizen are irrelevant. The series would of ended perfectly with Aizen. Torn about the fullbringer arc. Everything was shit, up till the fight against Ginjo. Then again as someone said, if you spread the arc out it's absolutely shit. But if you go through it in one sitting or so, it's actually not bad for an epilogue of sorts. Should of ended there at the very least.

Every few weeks I'll skip through the most current episode. The fact that I can skip 10 minutes and still be at the last scene I was at is a problem. Maybe the filler arc will pick up the pace since it's not bound to chapters, but I doubt it.

This was absolutely beautiful to read, I was expecting Ichigo to put up a bit more of a fight before Johann Sebastian Bach started kicking the shit out of him and this was a nice change of pace

Drastically streamline Arrancar/Hueco Mundo/FKT arcs.
Have the Arrancar arc be the longest segment, exactly like pre SS Bleach, just with Arrancars attacking with regular Hollow. Drastically decrease these Arrancars power to give humans a chance to shine, including giving Tatsuki, Keigo, and Mizuiro powers. This arc cements the human cast (plus Rukia who returns, and I guess Renji as well) as the main characters.
Ichigo has Bankai so obviously he doesn't struggle with many opponents, but the conflict can be that SS essentially abandons Karakura Town. SS is too busy trying to find and fight Aizen behind the scenes that Ichigo and his crew are left alone to deal with constant invasions. Eventually the first high tier Arrancar comes in, gives Ichigo an actual challenge, and cue Shinji and the Vizards. (Only 4 however, Shinji, Hiyori, Kensei and Hachi preferably)
Arrancar arc ends with the Vizards telling Ichigo he's gonna need to use his Hollow to get stronger. But the arc doesn't deal with Hollow Ichigo trying to weaken or take control of Ichigo, pushing him into despair. That's cut. The arc just ends in a final training where everyone trains with Urahara, while Ichigo trains with the Vizards.
Move into a (much shorter) HM arc where Ichigo decides enough is enough and after some prodding from Urahara ("You're the only one who can defeat Aizen, you can't let these Arrancar keep coming to your town") launches his own full scale invasion of HM with the humans and Vizards. This is where the real streamlining comes in, as there's maybe only 5 Espada that Aizen actually has, all VL.
HM arc would basically be a much more straightforward SS arc, where the weaker humans (Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizurio) deal with the non-Espada, and then through team ups, stronger humans and Vizards defeat the 5 Espada.

Ichigo takes on the one who first kicked his shit in [Ulqui?], winning by using a Hollow mask to actually push him into victory, Chad and Orihime can get the weakest [Yammy?], Uryu and Rukia take another [preferably Aaroniero] and the Vizards take the the remaining 2 strongest [Stark and Barragan?].
End of this arc, all the humans are exhausted, Ichigo,Shinji and Kensei are alright, and then Vizards and Rukia are in between.
Make it to Aizen's headquarters, hear some plan about how Aizen has been trying to make Ichigo strong, get to the Royal Realm, destroy the Soul King, whatever. Cue some flashes to SS where we see the Shinigami were aware of this, fortifying their own defenses and defenses of the Royal Realm to prepare for Aizen, that's why they abandoned KT. Anyway, final fights begin in HM, no FKT plotline at all. Shinji vs Gin (who's now a Vizard with a Res), Kensei vs Tosen (also a Vizard with a Res), and then Ichigo vs Aizen. Aizen shows off his fused Hog form[s?] which crush Ichigo, but then Ichigo finally awakens his own Res (maybe a mix of his Hollow form from the canon Ulqui fight and Dangai form?) and beats Aizen.
Urahara comes in, seals Aizen with the help of a Shinigami Isshin (surprise!) but we find out Ichigo awakened his full powers too soon, body couldn't handle it, he loses his powers. (But becomes the hero of SS anyway because he was the one to defeat the man they didn't even have the balls to challenge, instead focusing on security, even at the expense of others.

Fullbring arc can basically go as is, just with clarification that all human's powers are Fullbring, directly caused by Ichigo's Hollow powers affecting them. More SOL stuff happens, and Ginjo's history should be more properly explained. Arc ends the same way though, Rukia returns, returns Ichigo's powers charged up from everyone in SS as a sign that they are truly his allies now. (Shows a full transition from antagonists to neutral to no protagonists). Fullbring fights can be against the human's too, thanks to some Urahara magic that reverses Tsukishima's abilities. Ichigo kills Ginjo only using Bankai, no Hollow mask.
Then comes Quincy arc which isn't over so I can't say much, but this should be the arc where the Shinigami actually become prominent, featuring battles against the Sternritter. We could also get some explanation that Ichigo hasn't used Hollow powers since getting his powers back because he's afraid of losing them again, which can be revealed with the surprise that his Hollow is his Zan, OMZ is Quincy, he needs to use Quincy side to sustain his full power without losing them. Other than that, Quincy arc could probably be the same. Various invasions where the Shinigami fight, eventually aided by Ichigo and other humans. Some Royal guard training in there, and see how it goes.
Somewhere along the we'd have an altered TBTP as well.

The decay started immediately at the end of SS where Aizen reveals he can stop a Bankai with one finger. That degree of power-creep took a lot out of the series down the line.

What Hueco Mundo lacked was a sub-plot. SS wasn't just a barrage of fights, we had the whole controversy and shadowy dealings going on, infighting, which gave it huge boosts of excitement, tension, and depth. HM could've tried this with Orihime and her relationship to the Hogyoku, but Kubo backed out of that one and decided to make her, as usual, useless.

Doesn't help that the whole squad infiltrating HM was weak and had no chance to begin with. We knew they were doomed, and what made it more frustrating was that Kubo dragged their failed fights out for so long. If Rukia and Renji had the power boosts they're enjoying now, it would've been a whole different story, but Kubo decided not to power-up the characters he was focusing the arc on, meaning we were spending an entire arc with irrelevant characters.

FKT's biggest problem was not enough villains to deal with the heroes, so that Aizen had to steal the spotlight and manhandle most of SS. FKT should've been what the Holy War is now to give it its depth -- all of SS's soldiers fighting, a battle happening all over the place, etc, not an isolated, 1 vs 1 showdown.

I enjoy aspects of Fullbring, but that pacing was shit, Kubo got too used to his dramatic cinematic style and couldn't return to the fast-paced tone the manga began with which he needed for this arc to succeed.

Give Rukia/Renji/and especially Uryu a big power boost in HM

Give HM a subplot (Orihime trying to destroy Hogyoku, Arrancars trying to start an insurrection, they have to slip into Aizen's office or something to destroy Hogyoku?) so it's not just a series of fights. Also, way less emphasis on the pseudo-Espada in the beginning, no reason for that to drag on that long.

Have Ichigo beat Ulquiorra by teaming up with Grimmjow, not by going full Hollow insanity, or at least let Grimmjow do something relevant again during the arc.

Have Gin join the fight sooner, maybe have Hollow powers so he can take out a few more Vizards.

Even with this, I dunno. Those arcs are so clusterfucked.

I remember how hyped I was with this as a teen.
"Oh, man, things are gonna get real now!".
"Shit, what is that hand and that flying silver thing?!"
"Hell yes, Ichimaru Gin is coming back!"

It was such a world of changes and I expected the story to peak. I wanted to know so much what Aizen and crew were up to and even when Hueco Mundo was boring I still expected the Espada to be captain level and wreck serious havoc. There was still that aura of Soul Society and the story had its soul, there was potential! What a let down, I read Bleach now the same way someone takes car of a retarded grandparent who one shares good memories with.
