Great conclusion. This scene in particular was excellent, and regardless of last minute tweests was well executed.

The idea of remembering superhumans through media while the artistic style of the series itself was comic-like was neat, too. Glad I stuck with this after initially dropping it during the first season.

Was the ending satisfiying? I'll be stuck in a bus for the next five hours, so no torrents for me.

S2 as a whole, not quite as much. Still enjoyed it, but I really wish it had been more focused. S1's episodic nature, timeline hopping and worldbuilding had set up S2 really well, and I think it would have been better off with a more conventional narrative instead of continuing to do mostly one-off episodes. It was probably the best way the show could have ended at this point, but I really think they should have given this final arc more focus instead of jamming it into just two episodes. I kind of feel like a lot of the individual episodes this season only added to the show thematically and not story wise, compared to the first season were they really added to both, even the single guest writer episode.

I did like how they went for the Superhumans just blending into society and helping in the shadows, and not outright disappearing like some people thought would happen. The alien thing at the end was kind of stupid, but I suppose it shows that there's always an enemy for them to fight, even with all the kaiju and youkai gone.

Judas rebuilding Earth-chan, and Prof. Hitoyoshi rebuilding Raito and Megashinn was really nice to see.

This season really could have done without any of the guest writer episodes. I really liked Devilo and Devila's as well as Jonathan's episodes, but they really didn't add anything to the plot at all. The olympics one was easily the worst episode of the series though so I wouldn't miss it.

It's one of my favorite episodes of the whole show, but really Ningen-man's episode didn't add anything to the story either. At least Koma was somewhat important for the final arc.

Fucking damn son, this really did feel like some 70's era "Superheroes against the Ultiamate bad guys" kind of shit, right down to the evil monster island and control room.

Everyone acknowledging that justice is relative was cool, and this final showdown with Saotomi was great (that last punch was so fucking satisfying, though I'm sad he didn't burst into flames). Wish his backstory was a little more fleshed out, but maybe it was alluded too and I just didn't notice it. Quick, ultimately weak theory I have is that he's from the meteor that wiped out the dinos, he did mention he was effectively immortal. Plus, superhumans were a way to replace fossil fuels and was entirely his idea, so thats gotta mean something, right?

Epilogue with Furouta and Kikko was all I could ask for, though I'm still irked Kikko didn't officially win (or that we didn't get any really good stitches or shots of her massive S2 Kikkos)

OST was fucking flawless as always.

I really will miss this show.

This show was not without its flaws especially with some wonky directing here and there that might of turned some people off pretty early. But this was easilly one of the most unique anime in a long time and it possessed a scale so much bigger than most shows attempt to accomplish. Its understandable why its not getting praised to the high heavens but i definitely will refer to this series as one of the big hidden gems in anime and can only hope it garners a cult following sometime in the future.

The writer was clearly aware of social and political issues so I think it goes further than that. It's rare to see anime where people see Japan just as the victim of nuclear bomb. This line is EXACTLY what older Japanese citizen would say, all those Godzilla etc. movies were created to show people the nuclear threat as some kind of monster since it was a taboo to show actual nuclear bombing. So they see it as some kind of "invisible monster" as they referred to in this episode as well.

When Jiro became really really angry as a 10 year old boy, he lost control over his power until he calmed down. Adult (at least physically) Jiro can probably be a lot more destructive, which is why he needs control rods later on that can only be resealed by Emi, which then later got substituted with the Fumers.

Now that Jiro accepted what he is (a kaijuu who can be a superhuman, just like his idol, the Rainbow Knight was a human who could be a superhuman), he transcended anger and became one with the world.

It's kinda weird.
I can see why they end the show, Chojin lives among people and the old Chojin moved away, the way it did.
I just didn't expect they ended the thing with such high cheery note when the second to last ep is so bleak. It is very close to being a classic, yet unfortunately the ending didn't deliver what is needed. I guess the tone of the 70's doesn't allow that.

For some reason, I feel like the the theme presented on Concrete is a lot like Utena. Young v. Old. Childish dream v. reality. The real big bad is not the antagonist but the mind of the average people, Chojins are being treated as if they are old ancient history or a dream to be chased but never caught.
