Both the substitute shinigami and soul society arcs are ok then the next ichigos learning to control his mask then he's fighting grimmjow followed straight away by Ulquiorra and then next is Aizen

Although there's irl years between the two the in-universe time is so short

I wish Kubo actually expanded shit, seeing more of the espada together would have been great or a filler arc of Aizen creating and recruiting them woulda been fine, they were great super villains

It's hard to compare those arcs though. In HM we had far less good guys to worry about. As a result, each good guy could get their own individual fight. It's a lot harder to do that in this last arc.

The amount of characters is about the same and the amount of people who got individual fights was also roughly the same. Every captain except Ukitake got a fight and pretty much every vice-captain/Ikkaku/Yumichika got a fight in the Arrancar arc. Hell even Chad got a fucking fight.

The difference is that the Arrancar arc had a lot more buildup before things took off. The Quincy Invasion popped up in Hueco Mundo, then in SS, disappeared for a while, then popped back up for the big war not long after.

The only thing that can counter The Almighty is The Almighty. Now I am not saying this is the case, after all I still believe that Ichigo may have The Almighty. But what if The Almighty and the power of soul distribution are separate? It is possible when we consider that Jugram, another soul distributor quincy, is not a user of it and in fact states that the power is not suitable for him.
If this is how things are then the only way Ichigo can beat Yhwach is by gaining The Almighty from him, and to achieve this he will need to have a good chunk of his soul inside Yhwach. Perhaps his only chance of beating Yhwach is to have his powers stolen, then reclaim them and gain the memories and abilities of Yhwach.

Remember when Ichigo was on his way to FKT with Unohana and everybody was saying/thinking the only way Ichigo could beat Aizen was if he actively avoided Kyouka Suigetsu's release or he'd have to find a way to fight through it. And then it turned out to be a non factor because Aizen was so cocky he never even used his strongest ability.

It's pretty fucking incredible that supposed 'fans' of the series don't understand the relationships of Rukia/Orihime to Ichigo and the importance they've played over time.

Ichigo/Rukia are very similar and have since the first chapter had a deep connection for very obvious reasons. Rukia understands Ichigo down to his core and as a result they became fast and good friends to the point where Ichigo was actually willing to die for a girl he'd only known for a number of months. There's mutual respect and they stand as equals, for the most part.

Ichigo/Orihime do not. Ichigo, from the first chapter Orihime appeared, has an inherently protective aura towards her. He's never berated her or yelled at her like he has Rukia and seems to be conscious of her well-being at any given time. Ichigo does not understand Orihime and vice-versa. She starts the series physically attracted to him, a mere crush, and it blossoms into actual love over time as she begins to understand him. Ichigo obviously doesn't reciprocate the love but he's grown to acknowledge her feelings and growth, which is a big step up for both of their characters.

Rukia's purpose has been to renew his strength when he falters and Orihime is there to let him grow as person. But fuck shipping and all who take part because they instantly demonize any 'rival' as if either character could be unimportant in the series.
