So I'm late and there's mostly just shippingfags left, but anyone else just hype for next chapter? I'll be pissed as the next anon if armin is asspulled, but barring that I think we're on the cusp of entering snk's true third act. I wouldn't be surprised if the next chapter ended with Eren putting his key in the basement lock. That and actually killing off one of the most main characters gives me the bit of excitement this series boasted as its initial selling point. An anon a couple threads ago put it well, the feeling of coziness we've attained after the last dozen or so chapters without any SL falling only makes that much more sense for Armin's death a well timed place for some serious development. I mean, if the most annoying happens and Bert escapes, Armin and Levi live and nobody is made titan, the stagnation the series would be left in is insane, which makes me cautiously optimistic it won't happen

Armin's ocean dream was a representation/concretisation of his thirst for knowledge that would only be quenched by seeing the outside world, but his sharing his aspirations with Eren is definitely what awoke our main protagonist's desire for freedom: their end goal might be different, but I think their respective motivations are still deeply interwined.

I feel Mikasa's wish for Eren being safe and close to her evolved a lot over the course of the story as she began to find value in the survey corps' cause and in protecting other people important to her (Armin, her fellow comrades etc.), but it's still the most independent one out of the three.

And then we will get flashback how she was eaten or locked up in the village.

I give her 99% chance she is dead by now, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they kept her immobilised in the village for quick snack for new shifters when needed, after all now Zeke lost not only Annie, but also Reiner and Bert who he can't use anymore to make new shifters.

1% hope for me regarding Ymir is that either someone in that village knows her from previous life which would stop her from being killed or BR released her before going to the village or BR vouched for her as an ally for saving their lives last time. Ymir paid her debt to Marcel for eating him and now protected BR, but BR also need to pay their debt by making Historia safe or maybe protect Ymir.
