Remix Heart does have joke chapters but it also has serious parts. I think that they handled Mai's character arc, showing how she managed to gain self-confidence and learned to open herself to others, as well as her adaptation to her new life pretty well.

It's interesting to compare these images of Mai from the start of Remix Heart and of Variable Heart. They really show that Mai has matured and become self-assurance and are a good reflection of the character development she underwent over the course of Remix Heart.

Indeed. They added Mai and Tao in the new manga version of CT and mentioned them in the CP storyline but then during Remix Heart Gaiden in CPE they never even mentioned Taro by name.
